3. No. Attack McCain (edit: To the OP)
Edited on Sat Oct-04-08 06:33 PM by applexcore
After all, the Senate investigation did lead them to say he was guilty of "poor judgment" for the Keating 5. He then later admitted what he did was wrong.

An attack on Sarah will give her credence and be considered "beating up on a woman". We have to push McCain's buttons. (Keating 5, Cheating on first wife, MLK votes, and Confederate flag lies)

EDIT: This was suppose to be to the OP

12. Simply tell the truth, the WHOLE truth, about McCain and his Vice-Succubus
and that should be enough. They are both scandal-plagued....

5. Oh, I don't expect it WILL work. But they're clearly desperate and
I'll bet they try throwing everything out there these last few weeks, even if the crap they're flinging has been thoroughly debunked.

Saying Barack 'pals around' with terrorists, though, is beyond the pale...and calls for all-out-war on that crazy beeyotch; Jeebus knows there's enough ammo.:hi:

14. Strictly speaking, we don't know if it's "working" or not,...
...and won't for several days.

The charge just got resurrected and given prominence (and more-or-less debunked in some news outlets) today. I expect more coverage of it in the Sunday papers and the morning political talk shows tomorrow. We probably won't get any idea of how its playing nationally until the tracking polls on Wednesday, and even then won't be sure until the next round of polling in the targeted states, which may well be a week or more from now. And we won't have a full idea until the non-stop Ayres ads have had a chance to soak in, which may take a week after that.

I'm skeptical as to whether they will have much effect this late, with this few undecideds left in the electorate. But it is possible that they could cut Obama's lead. We'll know more by the middle of the month.

18. Interestingly, they have already hit themselves hard thanks to their bungled campaign
and as they now flail about having realized this, they will eventually wear themselves out and need to stop briefly to rest and then you hit them hard. It's the Aikido strategy. The polls are showing the result.

10. I suspect you are right. What REALLY cheeses me off is that a fundie, beehived NOBODY
suddenly appears on the national scene, pretending to be qualified; sneering scripted insults at men so obviously her superior; lying and winking and insulting the intelligence of those who've mastered critical thinking... she needs to be sent back to Alaska (with the six-year-old carrying the baby, undoubtedly :puke:) so thoroughly discredited that we'll never have to worry about the Repukes attempting to resurrect her for 2012.

She needs to be schooled...

6. Keating 5, adulterer, health issues...
... all of these little McCain factoids should be fair game now. We know damn well that if McCain was running against the Republicans instead of for them, we'd be hearing about his courtship to Cindy while still being married every day.

I still say Obama should ignore Palin on the stump. He won't be running against her until 2012. Sometimes it's not worth the energy it would require to swat a fly. Just let it buzz around.

8. NY Times Front Page Article on Ayers
Today (Saturday) the NYTimes had a front page article and full page continuation about Ayers and Obama. It was a shame they felt a need to give so much attention to a non-issue. Hannity has been repeating claiming that Ayers and Obama are long-time best buddies who spend all their time together reading bombmaking books and reading Das Kapital. The article includes an in-depth investigation that concludes that there was very little connection between the two.

11. I think Ayers is the strongest club in their arsenal...
If people don't respond to "palling around with terrorists," what's to make them think that "and he has had a radical minister" will make much of an effect?

We'll see over the next week if Ayers is having any impact in the polls. If not, I think you'll see the whole "all negative/all the time" approach be jettisoned in favor of yet another new approach, probably non-stop POW POW POW.

15. War protestors from the 60s?
Honestly, I don't think that will have any effect at all. I kind of think most everybody knows at least one person who was radical in the 60s.

16. I was thinking...
...that it might even increase Obama's standing in the "baby-boomer" group. ;-) Even if we didn't go around advocating bombings, there are a lot of us who were members or sympathizers of radical groups like the SDS, Black Panthers, Weathermen, or PCPJ back then.
