Barack Obama in Newport News, VA today @ 1pm
I was there. I think I have to take issue with organizers who left thousands out and erected the barricades early. I have a picture from right behind the barricade. I was able to get in from the side and will post those pictures later.

All in all, Obama looked great and his speech was mostly about healthcare and it really connected with people here in Hampton Roads.

3. When was the last time a Dem campaigned there in a Presidential election in October? 1964?
Good sign.

5. I was there too
Got there at 8 a.m. and found out that people started lining up at 3 a.m. I actually got a good spot on the right side of the podium on the rope line. I had no idea that they did not let people in. My biggest complaint was that they told us all they would have water because we were not allowed to bring our drinks in. Since I was right up front at first they were just giving out cups of water, then people started getting faint and finally about a half hour before Obama arrived they brought in some bottled water, my friends and I were part of an assembly line that passed the water back in the crowd so as many as needed could get it. IMO they should of had the water as you entered and give every person a bottle, they did mess up. I saw at least 12 people being taken out by the EMTs.

Obama gave a wonderful explanation of his healthcare plan, very detailed and told everyone exactly how out of touch McCain is on healthcare.

Here are some pics, I messed up on most of the one's of Obama, had a hard timing focusing because of the sun.
