Baracktoberfest Pub Crawl and Voter Registration Drive (10/5-10/6)-KS
I posted this in the Kansas forum and thought I would post this in GDP. If you know anyone in the northeast Kansas area who would like to participate, please let them know. If you don't know people in Kansas but live in a college town, this might be something to consider to help register voters.

It goes without saying that Lawrence is home to a gigantic student population, it is also no surprise that you can find these potential voters in a bar on a Saturday night. In our efforts to shape the electorate, we need to register these students to vote in our town.

For this voter registration pub crawl, two teams start on opposite sides of Massachusetts Street, hitting every bar between 6th and 11th street and registering everyone in sight to vote. Whichever individual registers the most Democrats wins an Obama ’08 t-shirt. Join us for a night of fun as we take to the streets to register new voters!

All interested volunteers MUST be at least 21 years of age. To RSVP, contact kansas@barackobama.com .

When: Saturday, October 4, 2008 at 10:00pm to Sunday, October 5, 2008 at 2:00am
Where: Meet at our HQ located off of 9th and Centennial Dr., Lawrence, KS

2. It does lend itself to creativity
I thought the Baracktoberfest idea was pretty good. Of course, my old hometown of Lawrence, is pretty liberal anyway. But any registrations will help out in the city elections next spring.
