Great new Obama ad going after McCain's healthcare tax

Yet another Obama attack ad on healthcare, which casts McCain's plan as a risky tax hike, set to air in the battlegrounds.

There's a sense in which Obama is taking a traditionally Republican approach here. The McCain camp says the combination of tax hike and tax credit would emerge as a modest gain for low- and middle-income families, and a hike only for the wealthy, a distinction Obama seems to be fudging.

The core argument: "The McCain tax could cost you thousands…or even your health care."

That latter threat is that employers will stop carrying coverage because of a new tax.

1. I wouldn't call it fudging since the McCain camp isn't clear on their intentions.

I still don't understand from what I've read if people with employer based health care will get the same credit that people without insurance who use the tax credit to purchase it will get. If they do, then what's the point of taxing their insurance if you're going to go ahead and give them a credit? Further, how does McCain justify claiming it's going to raise $3.6 trillion in revenue?
