The goal: the Presidency and a bullet-proof Congress.....

....as November 4th draws closer, the more confident and hopeful I am that we will achieve both of these objectives. The significance of both cannot be measured as it will give progressives and centrists (real centrist not conservatives masquarading as such) the opportunity to correct the last 28 years of Republicant follies.
First on my hit-list would be the impeachment of the 2000 Five (including O'Connor) and the removal of Roberts and Alito. Then President Obama can nominate real jurists to the Supreme Court.
I'm sure you mean a majority in both the house and senate. In the senate you most likely mean a filibuster proof 60 dem senators.
My question is - will the Dems ever be able to use those 60 votes? It seems that the Dems can never agree to anything and can't get them all to vote in a block - be it the house or senate.
What makes anyone think that would change if we're able to get this bullet proof Congress and also have a Dem president?
...I think that in spite of the constant meme broadcast by the conservative media that once we have a super-majority in both bodies that the proverbial sleeves will be rolled up and the work will be tackled.
I think the infighting label is false and will fall away after January 20th.
4. IMO that would embrace Blue-Dog Democrats who hold positions on divisive-polarizing issues that
are different from other Dem senators and congresspersons.
One such issue is the right of law-abiding citizens to keep and bear arms for self-defense in all states and cities including such crime ridden cities as Chicago, Philadelphia, Detroit, and D.C.
...should be expanded and override any local jurisdiction. In my opinion, a well armed populace is the last deterrent to fascism. However, if one opts not to own a gun, that is their decision.
