"Let Sarah be Sarah"
I'd say Sarah pretty much disabled the whole "sexism" argument all by herself, this past Thursday night.

Every cute simper, every horrific wink, every perky shrug and dentine smile, down to the pornstar-glazed look in her eye, just lent more creedence to the fact that this woman belies feminism in every way imaginable.

And when she brought up "our respect for women's rights" - I nearly lost it. This from a woman charging victim's for rape kits, this from a woman who would overturn Roe vs. Wade, this from a woman who spouts abstinence only, this from a woman who cares little for healthcare or education reform, this from a woman too ignorant to name a single newspaper she reads.

Bad enough that Palin's entire debate performance came off as one long list of memorized talking points interjected with folksyisms, beside the fact that every time she pronounced nuclear: "NOOK-yuh-ler" I had to throw whatever was in reach at the TV screen, beside the point of her inability to answer a straight question, esp. ironic coming from the "straight talk express", - from everything we've heard, from the McLame campaign themselves - we finally got to see the "real" Sarah - "unfiltered" - just "being herself".

And to this I say they are absolutely right on - "Let Sarah be Sarah".
Works for me - and in the end, I believe it works for the Obama campaign.

Yes, she should be herself, it will be a journey of self-discovery for her. She is a chameleon and will bend where the wind blows.

2. I have posted sooo many replies to posts such as yours!!!!
1. We heard for days leading up to the debate...Biden has to watch WHAT he says...HOW he says it...cant be condescending... So is there any backlash to Palin being condescending, b/c she sounded like a TWIT...

2. If Sarah Palin was being "Sarah" ...WHO was doing the Couric and Gibson interviews??

Dear GOP...I'm confused. Days leading up to the debate, you said "Let Sarah be Sarah...and she will do well"

Sarah Palin had great response to her PREPARED SPEECH to the RNC...

Now she's receiving rave reviews to her performance in the debate last evening...after being "tutored" on the issues by the McCain camp...

But sit her down with an interviewer (Gibson, Couric) for an OFF THE CUFF discussion and she falls on her face? Even as she glances down at her notes...

Help me here...

3. My daughter missed the bus this morning, so I had to drive her. Getting out of another car at the same time was a black woman and her daughter. I've never in my life met her and I don't know her, but I jokingly said, “Oh, you must’ve been up too late watching the debate too.”

She laughed and said, “Can I just say that ever since watching that last night, I am so frustrated. I try so hard to teach my children how to speak so that they are perceived as intelligent and yet Palin gets up there and throws down ‘doin’, goin’, you betcha’…if she is perceived as having the qualities for being Vice President, then American has really lowered its standards. And then to have a 17-year-old up there, five months pregnant…it’s hard enough for us to raise our children without THAT being an example…”

I had to hug her…

4. Thank you Sarah...Thank you!!! Please keep talking!!! I just spoke to my mom...and she and my very republican dad watched the debate last night. Mom said, "Melissa, you should have heard your dad...he actually said, ''The more that woman talks the less I think I can vote for them..."

Keep talking Sarah ...and while you do, I'm going to print off Obama's policies and send them to my dad! They dont have a computer (universal gasp) and dad told me last week, he wasn't familiar enough with Obama's policies...so I told dad, I'll try to find yah some and I'll bring 'em to yah...

4. The problem for Palin isn't sexism. It's idiotism.
