Rasmussen 10/4 Obama 51 McCain 45

http://www.rasmussenreports.com/public_content/politics/election_20082/2008_presidential_election/daily_presidential_tracking_poll

With one month to go until Election Day, the Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Saturday shows Barack Obama attracting 51% of the vote while John McCain earns 45%. For each of the past nine days, Obama has been at 50% or 51% and McCain has been at 44% or 45% (see trends). The stability of these results suggests that the McCain campaign faces a the very steep challenge in the remaining few weeks of Election 2008.

Obama is viewed favorably by 56% of voters, McCain by 53% (see trends). Rasmussen Markets data shows Obama is given a 67.3% chance of winning in November (see market expectations for key states).

Poll results on the Vice Presidential debate—including perceptions of moderator Gwen Ifill’s role--will be released later today by Rasmussen Reports (Premium Members can see the results now). See commentary on the debate by Debra Saunders and Susan Estrich.

New state polling released last night and this morning shows Obama pulling away in Maine, Nevada, and Washington. The Democrat is opening a growing lead in the Electoral College projections. The Governor’s race in Washington is tied.

but Obama has been basically at 50 or 51 and McCain has been at 44 or 45 for something like nine days.

4. Not bad at all.
We'll see if McCain's number rises over the weekend.

5. Anyone have the Palin debate poll data they talk about?
It says that "premium members" can see the data now, so someone must have it already? Is it good or bad?

6. if..
If stay at 50 you win. If you break 50 you win. That's it. That's the list.

7. Others like Gallup have had a bit more variation day to day, but with Obama up by at least 5%
Either way though, it's great to have a lead that's beyond the statistical margin of error.
