Life is about relative outcomes. Your happiest moment might be finding out the emergency room surgeons can save ONE of your legs.

The worse the world gets the more I like Obama because the relative value of a Democrat winning goes up.

Obama and Biden were right to vote for the EESA, if for no other reason, than because if it failed then every single "no" voter would own every lay-off and stock market drop from now until the election.

Unlike FDR, Obama didn't throw his hat in the ring planning to preside over economic calamity (though he should have known), but that's the way it has worked out. The economy is really, really, really, really bad. It's not just a usual business cycle recession.

That's real, and it ain't going away any time soon.

And that makes me more enthusiastic about Obama/Biden, not less.

1. He brought in with the rest of them and sold us out today.
There is nothing to be proud of and it will become obvious in the near future when this bill does nothing for the American public, it was a Fat Cat deal period.

:grr::grr:

2. I agree in some ways.
There is a lot to be said for the voters swaying our way because of the mess. Here's how I feel.
1-It's there, it might have been avoided, but it was a gamble, but they didn't see another way that they could use at the moment. Heavy, sigh!2- Enter Obama, from all accounts, superman, for what he has accomplished, a tremendous leader with substantial talents for pulling folks together. Because he is our possible/probable saviour, he will turn this big debt around by several different ways. Start with two biggies-End the war(money saved right there) ALTERNATIVE FUEL GREEN INDUSTRY! That will turn our country around, right there, and because it will be him and not McCain, I'm not as worried that we can't either turn this thing around or make it a lot less horrible. If McCain wins, we will all be living in Nazi camps, because we won't be able to afford any other way of life.
