NBC: 5 of 7 have less favorable view of Palin after debate
Source: The Raw Story

The challenge for any presidential campaign a month before the election is to win over the remaining undecided voters. Going by the reactions of a group of seven uncommitted female voters from swing states interviewed by NBC News following Thursday night's vice-presidential debate, Sarah Palin fell far short of achieving that goal.

Only two of the women were willing to say they had been favorably impressed by Palin's performance, while the other five indicated they were disappointed or had come away with a less favorable opinion. In contrast, all seven hands went up when they were asked who now had a more favorable view of Joe Biden.

Five of the women had voted for George Bush in 2004, one for John Kerry, and one was a first-time voter.

One of the two women with an improved view of Palin felt she had displayed a real grasp of the issues, saying, "Tonight I saw her come back in force a couple of times, and that impressed me."

The other one of the two noted that "she just seems like somebody that I could sit across the table from and just have this great conversation with. I mean, she's feisty.and I like that." However, even that woman, when asked for a pivotal moment in the debate, stated, "Biden said they would end the war and she said they would not. That's pivotal for me."

2. Important to differentiate between Palin's performance
and her positions.

I had a more favorable view of her poise and delivery. She took a truly awful platform and probably made it palatable to anyone who isn't paying attention.

8. Notice how she only said one line about not supporting same sex marriage...
... and avoided saying anything more than that after Biden said that if she wants everything else equal except that they keep churches from being forced to do these marriages that they are on the same page. She knew if she said ANYTHING more than that, she'd either be looked at as being divisive, or she would alienate her support that much more. With the answers she gave, and the way Biden "defined" her answers afterward, she ran the risk already of losing some of the religious whackos with what she'd already said.

7. There was a panel of seven women.
Two of the women said they had a positive impression of Palin. The rest did not.

6. They just showed this clip on MSNBC and will probably repeat
several times. It's interesting to see the women as they speak - one young woman's face was so expressive when she said Palin's not ready to lead the country.

9. The politically naive woman I watched with was wowed by Biden.
She kept saying "He really knows his stuff" and things like that. She deemed Palin too vague by comparison.

18. Frankly, one month before an election

I get so sick of and a little angry about these supposed "undecided voters."

It's like, pick up a magazine, a newspaper, turn on the TV, go to the candidates websites and make up your minds.

I happen to think they are all attention hogs and they have, in fact, already made up their minds.

If not, they are "morans."
