Cried like a baby ~ Biden spoke at son's Deployment Ceremony
I didn't see a thread.

My heart just broke to see those young people Deploy.

Senator Biden was eloquent and it was just so touching.

1. I can't even imagine what he has been going through this week -
between having Beau deploy, and preparing for the debate at the same time.

God speed, Beau!

4. Hope there is a video link soon
You could just tell how emotional he was during the Speech.

He said his son told him to " keep his remarks short."

I admire him for the depth of his feelings.
He cares about US too.

2. There was a thread and, yes...
I cried too, especially at the beginning when the troops were led onto the field by bagpipers.

9. One of my coworkers was with them. He told us to plan on
filling his spot at work for at least one year.

10. It just makes me think of all of our soldiers
that went to the Bush War.

My 32 yr old cousin just returned home.

He was housed in the green zone in Iraq for about a year at one time. He would write us that he could hear the guns and bombs all day and night. He never knew when one would land near them.

They had a toxic site near where he lived. His medical records will always have an entry about the exposer to whatever could harm him the rest of his life.

He is smart and the nicest kid with a little 2 year old daughter. His wife left him when he returned home and told him to keep the precious little girl.

Wife had been going out with three of his friends while he was in the service.

It breaks my heart because since he has come home he is hanging out in Hollywood with some low life woman, drinking, spending money on his mother's credit cards and doesn't come to see about his daughter.

This is a young man that was not in combat. What is life like for those have faced brutal scenes and injuries?

13. I mentioned in another thread, I think its unwise to publicise this
Same with Palin bragging about her son, and giving away most his deployment details. Mccain was being discrete about his son, but now its pretty well known that he's over there.

I think its great they're over there, but putting up pictures/details could endanger them. Ideally, we wouldn't even know about this.
