1. That's the third poll I've seen putting Obama slightly in the lead.
If he somehow pulls off NC, McAngry getting Minnesota wouldn't matter.

2. That's in line with recent polling so it must be solid. (pic)
PPP and Rasmussen show Obama up in NC.

17. We're going to.
In 2004, 26% of our vote was African Americans. If we get 30% this year, and they're for us, we only have to win 20% of all the other votes.

Plus, NC is filled with colleges and Democratic registrations have been through the roof.

6. I would weep, literally weep, with joy.
There are a lot of disenchanted independents in this state who've usually voted R.

I predict many Rs will simply stay at home if they are too racist to vote for O.

10. We're working on it.
I was on the phones calling my fellow Tarheels for their vote for Kay Hagan, the Democratic Candidate running against Elizabeth Dole in the US Senate race. Some of the voters did not know whether or not Hagan was a Democrat or a Republican. When I told them that she was the Democrat candidate, they said "Oh yeah I am voting Democrat". Some of them are just voting Democrat.

20 calls pro Hagan
3 calls were pro Dole (I just wished them a good day)
2 I would rather not say
and about 20 answering machines (the system will call them back)

You tally it up? NC is on its way to BLUE!

11. What do you think about the race for Gov?
I hope that shifty-eyed McCrory doesn't win. :(

12. Want me to be honest?
I can't say it just yet, still holding on to hope ... I still have hope that people will vote straight Dem. But I wanted Richard Moore. I don't know what happened to him in the primaries.

5. It's going to be awfully close,
but I've been saying all along that we will win NC and I still believe it. I think the Obama groundgame is going to be a huge shock to the pundits on Nov. 4th.

9. That isnt what the poll says...which confuses me.
I was going to post this but decided not to because if you read it, it says the question is who do you think is better for the economy, and not who youd vote for.

15. Don't worry, Nate at fivethirtyeight.com made the same mistake at first.
"Nevada looks good for Obama. New Hampshire looks really good for him -- and that was one of those states where we hadn't shown much bounce for him before. Yet another North Carolina poll shows Obama ahead; for the first time, we now have him as a (very, very slight) favorite in the state. Obama seems to be gaining a point in that Morning Call tracking poll in Pennsylvania almost every single day. (EDIT: The Elon poll seems to be a poll of who would handle the economy the best -- not the horse race numbers. We will delete it with tomorrow's update)."
