A dark reality regarding last night's Biden win...

Remember, this is the VICE Presidency we're talking about...the "heartbeat away" person. Like it or not, find it repulsive or not, there is a broader, sad reality that may further help us after last night...many people believe (I'm not talking "some people," like on the morning talk shows, I'm talking about real people I've actually spoken to and posts I've read here on DU) who believe Obama is no more likely to survive his presidency than McCain. It's kinda negative mojo just to think about it, but seriously, the people we talk about who tell pollsters they'll vote for BO but will go for the "safe" white guy once they're in the privacy of the voting booth...Biden just gave them another reason not to worry about an Obama-Biden presidency. If, God forbid, anything were to happen to Barack, at least we have a strong, intelligent, knowledgeable leader "a heartbeat away."

The McCain people simply cannot make that case that Palin is a better choice now, no matter how hard they'll try. It's glaringly obvious. You betcha.
