When Sarah says "Americans" it sounds like she's talking about foreigners.
I hate the way she uses "Americans." It sounds like she is a foreigner talking about America. It is a little disconcerting considering her secessionist past.
I've seen her (and McCain) talking about "foreigners who don't like us" so many times, that it makes me sick. Some Europeans (like me) do in fact like America. Some American politicians are rotten, but there are rotten politicians in Europe too. I don't like it when politicians talk about "those foreigners" as if all foreigners are evil. In Europe only politicians to the far-right would do that. Populism + Nationalism = Danger
And she has talked about how Alaska is between two different countries - Russia and Canada. I think a lot of Alaskans believe themselves independent from the lower 48 and USA in general.
