McCain trying to win Pennsylvania, Wisconsin or Minnesota.
If you're in one of those states, please do what you can to help Obama win.

==========================================================================
ST. LOUIS — Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) now must win Pennsylvania, Wisconsin or Minnesota in order to get enough electoral votes to win the presidency, his campaign says.

Those were considered swing states in 2000 and 2004, but George W. Bush lost them both times.

“Our ability to pick off one of those three states is where our fortunes are largely held,” a McCain official said. “These are states where Barack Obama is on the defense.”

McCain's political director, Mike DuHaime, told reporters on a conference call three hours before debate time that the campaign plans an "aggressive" front in Maine, a solidly Democratic state that gets virtually no attention in presidential races.

1. Agree with you -- let's do what it takes and run up the score.
I don't think McCain will carry any of the 3 of those states.

But let's also elect Franken in Minnesota and increase our two-chamber majorities in as many states as we can.

McCain fled Michigan just today.

5. Main splits EVs so the plan is to grab one congressional district and 1 EV, imo.
Thinking that would break a 269-269 tie in their favor. They have lost if this is how they are thinking this far out. They are losing ground in most battleground states, including some previously red ones.

8. Michigan has 17 EVs Maine has 4
If that is the strategy I am digging it. He needs to pull out of Florida too and focus on Nebraska.

10. In the case of Minnesota, the McCain campaign...
...certainly is spending money here.

TV ads for McCain run all the time in MN.

I haven't seen a TV ad for Obama since the February caucus.

4. Well if they are counting on one of those plus snatching one vote in Maine to squeak by with
270 votes their goose is cooked.

7. McCain is airing his bizarre, disembodied head ads, scored by the 2000 Caesar 2
game in Minnesota, yet he is behind in the polls. Obama isn't advertising in Minnesota. Their BS isn't working here. You betcha. And I guarantee, Palin's fake "Iron Range" accent, won't fly here.

As a woman, I want my gender back and as a Minnesotan, Dog gonnit, Joel and Ethan Coen, you need to get on this!!

9. That one McCain official is delusional.
"Our ability to pick off one of those three states is where our fortunes are largely held,” a McCain official said. “These are states where Barack Obama is on the defense.”

============

Ummm... On the defense?

Have they seen how Obama is leading by 5 points or more in each state?

What about Florida, North Carolina, Virginia, Iowa, and New Mexico? I guess he doesn't want to address how they easily won nearly all those states but are now either tied or behind.

14. The McCain official probably means that John Kerry won those states...
...so the Obama campaign is on defense there no matter how much Obama leads by there.

27. That really was a laughable statement - Obama is on the march
The only defense he's playing is defending himself from the jabs and bullshit thrown at him from McCain. Beyond that, he's moving forward and making his case to the American people. That's the kind of offensive game plan that I can get behind!

I don't see how Obama loses any of those states.
