I mean, folksy is one thing but that was so forced it was difficult to watch.
I don't see how anyone could have thought that coaching her to wink at and address the public in such a way was a good idea in a vice-presidential debate. It was almost as if she didn't take it seriously.
because you would, under normal circumstances, think that a wink would require interaction with another human. It's like an acknowledgment or an unspoken communication between two people. I can't think of any case where winking at something other than another human being would be effective.
...the viewer at home. I think that's how she works, by flirting with her audience with her body language. She touches her leg, she makes her little hand gestures, she winks at the camera.
It was like she was kidding about what she was saying every time she did it. Very off-putting. Confusing. I was reading the FARK threads since DU was down and Fark is made up of all types, LOL, and they were very weirded out by all the winking.
14. And she smiled at really inappropriate times...
she was talking about how things were tough for the middle class and how people didn't know how they were going to make ends meet - and she was smiling. I think she's really lacking in the common sense department. If she wanted to connect with people, she should have tried being more real. Or maybe, that's as real as she gets...who knows.
