Lousy questions, lousy moderation. Milk-safe, boring, and general

Ifill -explained- every single issue she asked about directly to the candidates. Specifics were not asked for, and in Palin's case, always not given. No direct mention of Palin's frequent wandering completely off-base of the question topic (always back to energy), and no pressure whatsoever to be substantive. Boo on Ifill in part, and double boo on the format. The topics never strayed from the three or four major topics of the day, and that provides the biggest boon to the candidate who needed the most coaching.

More than this, did you hear Palin say "thanks, that wasn't hard" to Ifill, or something to that effect? Each candidate's mic was still on for the MSNBC broadcast. No conspiracy theories necessary--on the most basic level that's the big story here. Keyword for the evening is "Blah."
