Biden Won The Debate. Palin Saved Face, Campaign Momentum Unchanged.
Biden clearly won the debate tonight because he showed that he indeed can assume the office of the presidency if needed to do so.

Palin showed that she was not a complete bimbo, but I don't feel that she dispelled the notion that she is qualified to be president if needed.

The event won't affect the campaign which is being shaped by the current bailout and an economic crisis. The economic crisis, and McCain's erratic reactions to it, is pushing the election toward Obama.

That is all.

4. She proved that she's ok at memorizing talking points.
That's about all. Otherwise she was a disaster for McSame's campaign.

5. I can't understand how she saved face
I felt embarrassed for her at times, she could not answer the questions asked. I think George Bush did much better in his debates. She just kept repeating her talking points. Is that what we want from our VP nowadays?

8. Compared To The Couric Interviews
She was much better. She was incoherent in those Couric interviews. At least tonight, you could actually follow what she was saying.

However, she did absolutely nothing to dispel the notion that she is not ready to be the president of the U.S.

10. You Would Have To Really Press Her To Do So
And if you press her hard, she will say that you're being sexist.

7. Achilles' Heel questions are her Achilles' heel
Edited on Thu Oct-02-08 10:03 PM by foo_bar
I had to leave the room and roll my eyes in a dark place.

IFILL: Let's talk conventional wisdom for a moment. The conventional wisdom, Governor Palin with you, is that your Achilles heel is that you lack experience. Your conventional wisdom against you is that your Achilles heel is that you lack discipline, Senator Biden. What id it really for you, Governor Palin? What is it really for you, Senator Biden? Start with you, governor.

PALIN: My experience as an executive will be put to good use as a mayor and business owner and oil and gas regulator and then as governor of a huge state, a huge energy producing state that is accounting for much progress towards getting our nation energy independence and that's extremely important.

edit: just saw your thread, glad I'm not alone in this despair.
