More pre-debate bar-lowering: Palin adviser: "It's not fair to judge her off one or two sound bites"

http://www.cnn.com/2008/POLITICS/10/02/vice.presidential.debate/index.html

With the exception of a handful of television interviews, Palin has mostly stuck to campaign speeches during her first month on the campaign trail.

Palin, John McCain's running mate, has come under a lot of criticism after recent television interviews with CBS' Katie Couric.

Palin stumbled through her answers to questions about foreign policy, Supreme Court rulings and which newspapers she reads.

Her flubbed answers regarding Russia and the congressional bailout bill have reverberated throughout the blogosphere and turned Palin into a punch line on "Saturday Night Live."

An adviser to Palin suggested the campaign's efforts at damage control after the interview were hampered by the fact that the governor wasn't doing more friendly interviews to counter her performance.

"We acknowledge that perhaps she should have been out there doing more," the adviser said, arguing that "it's not fair to judge her off one or two sound bites" from the network interviews.

3. Why not? If they won't let her talk to reporters, it is their own damn fault.
