1. I expect her to vomit, so if she doesn't I guess I'll have to give her credit. nt

36. Bingo. Exactly why we will be told she "wins" tonight, unless she vomits, as in post #1; however,
even if she vomits, she'll win with the sympathy vote.

3. I do
Just saw those clips of earlier debates on Keith's show. If she keeps it straightforward, she could get great reviews.

But I think Biden will do better.

but Biden will be the only grown up on stage.

31. We know he has more knowledge...
Edited on Thu Oct-02-08 07:55 PM by eleny
So if he also keeps it straightforward, he has to appear to be the one we trust in the job and the one ready to take the helm. It's a natural.

~ Hubby has a friend in Dayton, Ohio, He and wife voted for W in '00 and '04. They're voting for Obama and have been talking up their neighbors. McCain disappoints them and Palin scares them as they have two teen daughters they're concerned about. This debate won't change their minds. Nor yours & mine. We have that going for us.

!Fist bump!

Yes I do, this format should reel her in and since she will attack
ALL night she will be seen as the aggressor.

Edited on Thu Oct-02-08 07:49 PM by kansasblue
more like dual press conferences.

I think she will do well in that format. One line zingers. Talking points, etc

7. I think she is poised to beat Biden like a rented mule.
She is underestimated and will come with a pocketful of Hannity and Limbaughisms that will be talked up on right wing radio and Fox for weeks. Remember, by avoiding a shut out, Palin wins the World Series.

She goes for red meat quotes and she loses.

9. If she just shows up, she'll do better
than expected. However, I think she has become irrelevant. The economy is driving this election now and people want change. McCain/Palin are losing for that reason. There's nothing Palin can do tonight to change that.

11. My biggest fear is that she will have some kind of zinger, -something from Bidden's...
past that we don't know about, -or a lie, -something that will be jaw dropping.

Something that will leave Bidden speechless.

...the rightist pundits and talking heads will declare victory.

Expectations are so freakin low she will almost certainly exceed them.

IMHO, we have to stand up for Joe.

PEACE!

16. She HAS to hit a home-run and win the debate hands down in order to save her
reputation. right now she is looking like a complete idiot. just "Passing" the questions tonight with a C level grade will NOT improve her reputation or credibility.

in otherwords, no.. I do not think she will do better than expected because I expect her to get an A because that's what she HAS to do.

20. She'll do better than 'expected,' and Biden needs not only to answer
the questions clearly, but must constantly gauge Palin's strategy and respond appropriately to keep this thing from becoming a bizarro world exercise in political surrealism. :-)

25. Follow-up is where she flounders. Eg. "Which newspapers, exactly?"
Edited on Thu Oct-02-08 07:54 PM by PaulHo
If the format doesn't allow for follow-up, she will do well.

Plus... she benefits just by being on the same platform as Biden. If he's a heavyweight.... the subliminal thinking goes.... she must be a heavyweight too.
