So, in a word or a phrase, how are people feeling right now?
We just walked our dogs, and am here, of course -

I guess I am kind of inexplicably edgy - certainly confident that Biden will do great, but unsure of how the outcome will be spun, and the impact it will have.

Still, can't wait! Reading DU keeps me from pacing....

7. Cautiously optimistic.
The media will rave about Spiro Igloo's performance barring spontaneous human combustion, but the bump in the polls that the McCain campaign won't be enough to stop the freefall.

9. No fear. Complete equanimity.
The momentum is in Obama's direction. Nothing Palin can do tonight will change a thing. She can fall on her face or hit it out of the park. Won't change the election day outcome. IMHO.

14. Curious
I've been looking forward to this debate. I thought the first presidential debate was a draw, but only because McShame didn't come totally unglued. I think the same will hold true this evening: If she doesn't do anything TOO stupid, she will not lose but neither will she win.

I don't really buy into the whole thing about "expectations." This isn't someone that most people intuitively like. She's a right-wing ideologue and a weirdo to boot.

listening too much on how Biden should play this focus just on McCain and not on her.

But she can be a bitch too. And she will be playing on the feelings of the people, but the audience will remain silent.

47. No, be calm. It is fine. All is well.
Please don't stress. This is going our way. Sarah is too far behind the 8 ball to recover. Her little zingers tonight will not impress. She made her first impression and then nothing. What else has she got?

It is obvious where this is going...

30. I've switched from my Prosecco to Cabernet Sauvignon
I am saving my 2nd glass for the debate, which I am salivating over.

No doubt Ms. Palin will have her arrows, but to no avail. She has now brought McCain down by so much that she is a national disgrace. Well, well.

Did we Dems not tell everyone this? Are we not always right?

Case closed.

(glass raised) Cheers!

but the other team is using a bunch of steroid-ridden JuCo transfers with .08 GPAs. Oh, and they're felons but their coach still lets them play.

41. Surprisingly serene
The only way this debate can tangibly change the big picture is if one of them makes some huge, enormous, gigantic all-timer gaffe. Obviously, that's more likely to come from Churchy Spice. Otherwise, I honestly think all of this will be overshadowed by the jobs report tomorrow. Even if Churchy somehow does OK, poor old McCrap will have to answer to another huge number of jobs being lost again.

46. Yes. Listening to Mozart now, just for pre-debate openers. How joyous!
8 minutes to go. Time to just relax in Mozart a bit and get mellow.

It has been said that "music always saves you" and it has saved me on more occasions than I wish I could remember.

Ah, the beauty...
