I think this is a great analogy for Biden. He's officially Obama's top surrogate, yet all of the pundits in the media are essentially telling him to take the next pitch and not swing the bat. In my opinion, you don't spend top dollar on a baseball slugger and not give him the green light. So with Biden, I think he should be given the green light and feel free to swing away if he gets a hanging curveball on a 3-0 count. Anybody else agree that Biden should be turned loose on Palin?

2. Biden's set up perfectly.
Like I was saying yesterday, with one zinger Biden could break the back of the McCain campaign, get his name back in the media cycle, and be an instantaneous internet meme.

You can knock it out of the park and put the nail in their political coffins.
Have voters thinking "incompetent" when they see "McCain/Palin".

6. Respectfully disagree.
The Obama/Biden ticket is on the rise. The numbers are going up, up, up. Biden's job tonight, in my opinion, should be to change nothing.

Let Palin keep burying her own ticket.

Now, IF it looks like she's holding her own, MAYBE Biden should get a swing in toward the end, just to knock her down. (I know I'm mixing a boxing metaphor with a baseball one. Sorry. :) )

18. For this analogy, by definition, a home run is a home run
I define a home run as Biden performing in the debate in a way that has most Americans thinking "incompetent" when they see "McCain/Palin".

11. The pitcher threw ball one in the dirt, ball two over the back stop,
Edited on Thu Oct-02-08 06:58 PM by Buck Rabbit
Ball three hit the batter in the warm-up circle. The bases are loaded and it's bottom of the ninth.

You take a pitch. If she puts two over the plate in the first two thirds of the debate you swing.

If she falls into the shit early....then he needs to go in and end it with a blast to the upper deck in right field.

23. Two more presidential debates and 4 more weeks of campaigning
Along with the obvious fact that McCain will employ at least one or two "game-changers" between now and election day, this game is nowhere near over in terms of innings. However, we do have an opportunity right now to pile on some scores to put the game out of reach! :bounce:
