Biden spending his last moments with Beau before Beau deploys tomorrow.
Biden will officially say goodbye to him tomorrow since he is a Senator, he gives a speech to
the troops as the deploy. Beau's in the national guard.

1. The good news is he'll be in a safe place, or so they said on NPR.

7. There is no safe place in Iraq
and no matter how safe they try to keep him he will still be far far away from his wife and children - like so many in his position.

2. Isn't it a security issue for kids of major party candidates
to be in active service? To the extent it depends on where they're deployed, are there official limits on such kids' opportunity for service?

3. I'm sure Joe would love nothing more than that happening.
Both Jill and him were not happy about this.

5. It is a security issue.
Remember everything going on around Prince Harry's deployment to Afghanistan? Lots of secrecy involved, and they had to yank him when the beans were spilled - VIPs and VIP's family members are targets, and their presence creates a lot of complications for the .mil to deal with when they have plenty to worry about when conducting their missions.

My guess is that the Pentagon will conclude that sending Beau into combat would be more trouble than it was worth, so they'll deploy him to a non-combat area.

My heart goes out to you... I cried for days before and after my son was deployed! What a trooper you are!

9. Biden's a class act, unlike Palin, who uses her children as campaign props.
He'll make a fine VP.
