Remember when the woman told Adlai Stevenson "Every intelligent American
will be voting for you,"

and Stevenson replied, "Perhaps, ma'am--but unfortunately I require a majority."

Well, I think the bar has been lowered.

Every American smart enough to tie his shoes without help oughtta be voting for Obama.

Every American smart enough to understand what the Republicans have done to us in the past 8 years.
Every American who can blow his nose without lobotomizing himself.
Every American who can walk and talk at the same time (which explains Palin).

1. Thats one of my favorite political quotes....
Adlai Stevenson is one of the greatest presidents we never had. I wish he'd had a chance to show America what he could do.

This time I think we'll have that majority.

and nothing has changed in the 35 years since I graduated. I haven't been around DU much because I hate fighting with my friends. The Obama/Clinton fight worked my last good nerve. I started out the year with a lot of respect for Bill and Hillary Clinton and John Edwards so obviosuly its been a really disappointing year for me. Now I feel like a fool.

Worse than that, I should know better at my age than to ever trust any politician but here I go again believing in this Obama guy. Maybe this time will be different....

(on edit: tried to respond hours ago but DU shut down for me)

3. My dearly departed father was always so proud of the fact that
he voted for Stevenson.
