A Dark Shadow Falls: Palin Stands In for McCain at $250K/Plate Dinner
By: Lisa Derrick Thursday October 2, 2008 9:50 am

Last night John & Cindy McCain were supposed to be meeting supporters who'd paid up to as $250,000 per (solid gold) plate at a host committee dinner and private reception at Century Plaza Hyatt Regency, sponsored by the McCain-Palin Victory California Leadership. Those impacted by the stock crash could pay $1000 for a reception, or $2500 and get a souvenir pin. Cindy loves campaign lapel pins.

But McCain bailed $250K plate dinner for the bailout, supposedly sending a freshly prepped Palin in his place:

Please be advised that you may experience a traffic delay today on Avenue of the Stars due to a Republican Party Fundraiser at the Hyatt Regency Century Plaza. The fundraiser, featuring Republican Vice-Presidential Nominee, Sarah Palin, is expected to begin at 5:30 p.m. A protest rally sponsored by California Democrats is expected to begin at 4:30 p.m. Please use caution when exiting or entering from Avenue of the Stars .

Because that's what Vice Presidents are for. No word yet from MSM on how the fundraiser went, probably because the press was not invited.

I know John had to vote but Cindy McCain could have gone to it she is an effective speaker.

3. Hmmm...couple this with the droopy eye yesterday and his not
speaking on the Senate floor last night lends a lot of credibility to the stories that he had a medical problem yesterday! He wouldn't even show his face in the Senate last night as far as I saw, and I watched most of it.

4. The thing is Cindy has done these events before alone
This one was a big one hosted by Jon Voight in California.

Also this means Sarah had to fly to California to do this event
when they needed her rested for her big night tonight.

5. Looks like they're stuck with Palin.
Who will she name as her veep? They would have a better chance at making it believable when they steal the election.
Palin & _______________?
