25. Everyone in Iowa wondered wtf McCain was doing here...
Edited on Thu Oct-02-08 01:05 PM by TwoSparkles
McCain is anywhere from 8-12 points behind Obama.

Yet, McCain was here last week, and two days (two days in Iowa!!!) this week.

We're only 7 electoral votes. And he's far behind.

Hey, I appreciate the attention and love--but this didn't even make sense.

I'm wondering if McCain decided to go for a bunch of "tier 2" states, because
he knows damn well that he's going to lose Ohio, PA, FL, CO, WI and maybe NC
and VA.

Maybe McCain was scrounging for undiscovered votes in states because he knows
he's up a creek--but it appears that he's abandoning that effort because it's
not working either.

I smell a landslide.

HUH? But McCain has never been good with money, planning, he is a fly by the seat of your pants guy. Who ever said how a person runs their campaign is how they will run their administration should be enough of a reason NOT to vote McCain

12. i think him suspending his campaign last week was a cost cutting measure and also
a diversionary tactic to take the spotlight off of Dopey.

39. But he didn't suspend anything. Nothing. Nada.
It WAS a gimmick to help his sliding poll numbers. All it helped was our ability to make even more fun of him. ;)

24. That's great; however, pulling out is not 100% effective. Ask Bristol.
I just used NPR's interactive electoral college map -- http://www.npr.org/news/specials/election2008/2008-election-map.html#/president-userOvM/ -- and gave all their "toss up" states to the GOP. The results were 269 to 269!

The Secty of State in Colorado (leaning Dem) has purged 20% of the state's registrations, and we can expect that these would be concentrated in democratic-leaning demographics.

As secretary of state, Coffman has come under fire for alleged ethics violations.

In one instance, Coffman picked a consulting firm for his congressional campaign that also worked with an election machine manufacturer, Premier Election Solutions. All of Premier's machines were cleared for use in the presidential election.

Coffman denied any link between the consulting firm and the decision to certify the Premier machines. The head of the consulting firm said work for Premier and Coffman's congressional campaign were not linked.

In another instance, Coffman reassigned an employee at the secretary of state's office who was running a political consulting business. State auditors cleared the worker of the most serious charge, that he sold state data to clients.

The group Ethics Watch has filed a complaint covering both ethics charges with a state ethics panel, which has not yet heard the case.
