Good Sign Last Night At My Son's OC, CA HS
Edited on Thu Oct-02-08 12:07 PM by stopbush
Last night was open house at my son's HS in the heart of OC.

I saw not a single McCain sign/button/bumper sticker anywhere. On the other hand, many cars had Obama/Biden stickers. Also, my son's Young Democrats group had a table set up near the entrance where they had a line of ADULTS waiting to purchase buttons and bumper stickers. There was no competing Young Rs table to be seen.

I have no doubt that most Rs around here are planning on voting for Mc, but it's refreshing that they are keeping it to themselves this time around. It's more refreshing that Ds are unapologetic and unafraid of showing their political leanings in this red enclave of blue CA.

6. Same area
I know multiple couples that have switched. One told me he has never voted D, he went so far as getting Obama shirts. Another lady said she would never vote for Obama, changed a month ago to she can't vote for McCain, now she is voting for Obama. I went to the forum at Saddleback. The guy behind me was a Saddleback employee. He kept telling his wife that McCain was doing nothing more than a stump speech and had no depth. My business partner voted for Clinton then W., firmly Obama. Guy in my office suite yesterday walked in, out of the blue, and said, he feels sorry for Obama because he is going to have to clean up the mess, then started talking about watching Charlie Rose and his disgust for the current admin. There are more, my point being, OC is going to be close this year, not going as far as saying Obama will win OC, but if he is close in OC and SD County then we are looking at a HUGE CA victory.

3. Pretty impressive for OC!
I live in Davis and was absolutely floored to see a McCain/Palin yard sign yesterday! McCain bumper stickers are very scarce in the Sac area.

5. I'm in a very prime new exurb in the Phoenix area--the Obama stickers outnumber Mccains (home state,
btw) by, well--I honestly have yet to see a Mccain sticker, yeard sign, button, t-shirt--ANYTHING.

I've seen several Obama stickers just in the neighborhood. I canvassed right in my own neighborhood last week and got a very enthusiastic response, too.

7. I live in Huntington Beach (OC) and haven't seen any McCain/Palin signs
I've seen one car with a Bush/Cheney 2000 bumpersticker and another with a Viva Bush sticker but that's it. I think the number of Democratic voters in OC has been steadily increasing over the years, at least the northern half.
