"Sarah Palin blunders over talks with British ambassador that never actually took place"
Another (gasp!) lie from Miss Piggy from Great Britain's Daily Mail:

Sarah Palin has committed yet another political blunder after claiming she had held talks with a British ambassador -
talks that never actually took place.

In an answer to questions about her foreign policy experience ahead of tonight's make-or-break vice presidential
TV debate, her aides listed numerous contacts with foreign officials - including Britain's ambassador to Washington,
Sir Nigel Sheinwald.

However the meeting never occurred. Officials at the embassy swiftly contacted the McCain-Palin campaign to
inform them of the discrepancy... The embarrassing mishap comes as Mrs Palin faces the biggest challenge of
her political life tonight in a head-to-head vice-presidential debate with Democratic candidate Joe Biden.
Senior Republicans acknowledge that - bearing in mind the Alaska governor's lack of political experience -
an embarrassing performance before a TV audience of more than 50 million could kill off Mr McCain's campaign...

Obama aides said they have studied her debates during her 2006 campaign for governor of Alaska.

"Anyone who has watched any of her earlier debates would agree she is a skilled debater," Obama campaign
manager David Plouffe said.

1. This woman has given "pathological liar" new meaning.
Please, please send this to Rachel Maddow, she'd probably get Sir Nigel on the show to clarify. Shoot, send it to KO and Huffpost and everyone else as well.

2. Man! They don't even try to hide it anymore!
They just lie, and lie, and lie. And when they're through with that, they lie some more...!!!

"Anyone who has watched any of her earlier debates would agree she is a skilled debater," Obama campaign manager David Plouffe said.--nice touch! ;)

4. Too bad they swiftly contacted the McCain/Palin campaign
to correct the discrepancy. It would have made for great television, if she had made that statement during the debate.

Peace!

that Joe needs to brush up on.

6. If she winks after a lie, is it still a lie?
I'm not sure why repukes think we can't tell when they are flat out lying.

7. She's not just a liar, she's a stupid liar.
Good liars make up stuff that's hard or impossible to verify. Stupid liars say things that can easily be disproved, like, for instance, "I met with the British Ambassador".

People this stupid don't usually make it to the national level in politics. Next, she's going to start claiming she used to be an astronaut or a professional basketball player. :eyes:

13. Their audience
though, is that 10-12% who are still undecided and not paying a lot of attention. That slice of the electorate doesn't pay enough attention to know these are lies. So I think the repukes are just going for it. They're certainly saying anything they want to , anything they think will get them a vote.

14. You are right
BUT, I swear this has been a rapidly developing thing over the past 2 years. The utter lies, even over small stuff like what they had for dinner, has increased at a pace unheard of (oh wait, newspeak...yeah, it all fits together)

bleh, I hope she crashes and burns beyond all reason tonight.

but a brilliant debator.

A brilliant, tough debator who doesn't miss a trick.

Watch out, Biden. She's a snake. A brilliant, tough-minded debator who will bite you when you aren't looking.

Not to mention that Gwen Ifill is a woman, and is biased for women. So Palin will get the softball questions and Biden will get the tricky, unfair questions.

This debate is heavily loaded in favor of Palin. I truly pray that Biden can just keep his head above water tonight.

17. Foot In Mouth Disease
I think we've all known someone like this...the person who states the obvious or just can't let go of a topic. They talk themself in circles all the time...speaking before thinking...and trying to bullshit to either embellish or fill in the gaps. For the most part, the onus is on the listener to check out the fact from the bullshit and my bets are Ms. Barracuda has skated through life never having her bluff called. The videos of her debate show a combination of "charm" mixed with diversion and mind-meld that always put her opponents on the defensive and her beyond attack. While this game can work in a provincial world of state politics (especially a small one), it doesn't quite play on a national stage. Usually by the time a politician makes it onto that stage, they've worked their way up through the trenches of partisan wars...Ms. Palin grew up in the rarified air of a one-party state.

The other day someone refered to her as being the "Jaywalking" candidate...and I really think that applies. This woman is the product of a very closed society and worldview that pushed dogmas and ideology over facts and reality...turning people like her into blithering idiots, but ones who live in a blissfull world where all the idiots speak the same language. Go to hate radio and my bets are a majority there think there's nothing wrong with what she said and they even can "relate" to it...it's the fishbowl they've all swum around in for the past 20 years.

Ya gotta think Grandma is going through quite a rude awakening these days as she's being a "kept woman"...from a nasty, ugly world out there that is hell-bent on destroying her. She still doesn't get it...you can't deprogram a lifetime of ignorance and arrogance. When they say "Palin should be Palin", I smile...as that's where she exhibits her biggest weaknesses.

Tonight's show will be all about Sarah...but that's how her life has always been. Let's see if she assumes we all are in on her special status.
