Obama Makes McCain Very Uncomfortable
McCain is seriously losing it.

http://blogs.cqpolitics.com/beyond/2008/10/obama-makes-mccain-very-uncomf.html

As the two shared the Senate floor tonight for the first time since they won their party nominations, Obama stood chatting with Democrats on his side of the aisle, and McCain stood on the Republican side of the aisle.

So Obama crossed over into enemy territory.

He walked over to where McCain was chatting with Republican Sen. Mel Martinez of Florida and Independent Sen. Joseph I. Lieberman of Connecticut. And he stretched out his arm and offered his hand to McCain.

McCain shook it, but with a “go away” look that no one could miss. He tried his best not to even look at Obama.

4. He'll have to
So much was made of his inability to look at Obama in the first debate, his handlers will insist that he MUST NOT make the same mistake again.

Having to look at Obama could be the trigger to his inevitable meltdown!

Oh please please please!

8. What would rock
Is if Obama could somehow know when all cameras are off him and on McCain and then make faces at McCain while he's talking or hold up the L sign against his forehead, or doodle a screw and a ball and hold it up for McCain to look at. Then when the camera turns back to Obama, he's just looking all innocent-like.

10. Good SNL skit idea though! Our Obama is too much of a class act to do this
but it would be great fun to watch.

Great idea for his first Gridiron dinner after he is elected.

13. "Did you see that, Tom?"
"That black bastard crossed his eyes at me!"

Camera cuts to Obama, a look of puzzlement on his face as he looks at the frothing McTesty... even Brokaw looks concerned that his good friend is losing his mind.

2. You know, I am so sick of this man and his behavior
Obama is open, accepting, tries to be friendly even in the face of adversity

McGrumpy is just another angry bigot

7. Bush ran a nasty campaign against him in '00 and yet he has more contempt for Obama
The last time I checked, Obama wasn't push polling SC about McCain's adopted daughter the way Rove did and yet he treats Obama far worse. That's f'ed up.

9. Lower ranking monkey

Best observation of this election season:

Comment from TPM

I think people really are missing the point about McCain's failure to look at Obama. McCain was afraid of Obama. It was really clear--look at how much McCain blinked in the first half hour. I study monkey behavior--low ranking monkeys don't look at high ranking monkeys. In a physical, instinctive sense, Obama owned McCain tonight and I think the instant polling reflects that.

So McCain may have given away his status as a low-ranking monkey. I'd never even considered monkey rank.

Late Monkey Science Update: In case anyone's wondering, I looked up TPM Reader TB's page at the University he teaches at. And no doubt about it, he appears to be a genuine monkey scientist, or to be more specific a researcher on social cognition and behavior in primates. I'd link to his page. But readers remain anonymous, save for their initials, until they tell us otherwise.

11. Obama is smarter than him, so yeah, he is bitter...
McCain is old hat politics that this country, the world, does not want nor do we need.

14. It's like those nasty foreign leaders McCain refuses to seat across the table from himself...
If you shake Obama's hand, you validate his right to be who he is, where he is.

This crybaby bullshit shows how some people never really grow up.

15. He would have been more comfortable facing Clinton, that's for sure.
Something about having Obama as his opponent makes him fundamentally uncomfortable. Not sure what that is.
