Now McBush gets his history wrong
http://politicalwire.com/archives/2008/10/02/now_mccain_gets_his_history_wrong.html

"This morning on Fox News, Sen. John McCain tried to slam Sen. Joe Biden by saying at least Gov. Sarah Palin knows President Franklin Roosevelt "didn't talk to the American people over television."

While Biden wrongly said last week that FDR addressed the American people on television after the 1929 stock market crash, McCain is wrong that FDR didn't talk to the American people over television.

Roosevelt was the first president to appear on television when he spoke at the opening session of the New York World's Fair on April 30, 1939. The first presidential address from the White House was by President Harry Truman on Oct. 5, 1947".

I'd bet Sarah Palin didn't even know FDR won 4 elections (1932-1944)..

So "F" you John McBush....

3. Why don't our "talking heads" on TV call him on that??
Oh, I just answered my question myself - that's all they are is talking heads and have no brain of their own to follow up with anything but their next question after somebody gives a stupid answer like this!

4. It's one thing for Biden to get his facts mixed up or wrong, it's another
thing for Palin to not know any facts. McCain says Palin would know that FDR was President during the crash and didn't go on TV? Hell, she can't name a newspaper she reads.

5. You know, words matter...
Biden never said the "1929" part, and I see evryone throwing that in there. Here is his exact quote;

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NTBZHf6WyG0

Now if people really want to get technical, he said the words; AFTER the stock market crashed, which is factually true, since FDR did make statements AFTER the stock market crashed. The only thing Biden got wrong was that he went on TV. I think now, that he meant to say radio, and just said TV...

As I, and others, have pointed out before, FDR was in FACT sitting president while we were still in the depression.

7. they're even pretending that FDR wasn't President
during the depression. At least that's how Elisabeth Hasselbeck made it sound one day on The View.
