While there is hypocrisy aplenty to go around in regards to McCain and Palin, nothing irritates me more than the fact that they claim to be running on some kind of "anti-corruption" platform to "clean up Washington" and not many people (any?) outside of here point out the glaringly obvious fact that Palin is CURRENTLY under investigation for abuse of power (corruption) and, despite apparently knowing this (His campaign DID vet her enough, right?), McCain chose her to be his running mate despite the fact that there were so many other VP candidates he could've chosen from without that kind of baggage. What does THAT say about McCain's judgment?
As if that isn't bad enough, the McCain campaign has moved in to Alaska with a bevy of lawyers to attempt to delay (obstruct) what is, as far as I can tell, a legitimate investigation into Palin's alleged abuse of the power of her office, and Palin has steadfastly refused to cooperate with the investigation until after the election despite an earlier pledge to fully cooperate with the investigation that she now derides as "politically motivated". This situation is not only supremely hypocritical on so many levels but deeply disturbing, particularly after the last 8 years of Bush/Cheney, and a harbinger of things to come (more secrecy and unaccountability) should McCain/Palin somehow manage to get elected in November.
Why is it that neither Obama nor Biden have called any attention to this? This could, perhaps more than anything else, completely obliterate the McCain/Palin campaign IMHO. I sincerely hope that they plan to point this out at some point (tonight's VP debate or at the final Obama vs. McCain debate would be wicked!) or somebody else gets an ad out there about this! It just seems too good not to use.
