McCain jokes: ‘I’m not a rich man.’

McCain jokes: ‘I’m not a rich man.’

This morning on MSNBC’s Morning Joe, Sen. John McCain talked baseball with Joe Scarborough. Scarborough, calling McCain a “gambling man,” asked which baseball team would make it to the World Series. McCain said the Dodgers have potential, jokingly adding, “that shows why I’m not a rich man”:

I think the Dodgers are not to be underestimated given the fact that they’ve got some pretty strong pitching. So I think it’s very possible that both of those teams, both the Dodgers and Red Sox, could surprise everybody. But that shows why I’m not a rich man.(Laughter)

1. Well, to be fair, he said you have to have more than $5 million to be rich...
Oh, wait. Sorry. Just one of his 7 houses is worth more than that.

6. Put this guy in a rubber room.
He has lost all of his marbles. (No, he may have saved three to play with at the next debate.)

7. Dodgers and Red Sox are going to surprise everybody?
As a Red Sox fan, I would like to know where this asshat has been for the past 5 years. It wouldn't be a surprise for the Red Sox to go all the way this year. Hell, it's expected inside Red Sox nation and anything else is unacceptable. Anyone remotely familiar with baseball would say a Red Sox appearance in another World Series is anything but surprising.

The Dodgers are arguably the hottest team in the NL right now and their bats are their strongest suit - not as much their pitching. A lot of people pick them to be in the mix, thus - not a surprise if they go all the way.

A surprise would be Tampa Bay vs. Milwaukee in the World Series. Not Sox vs. Dodgers

Once again, McCain shows us how out of touch he is on ANY issue.
