John McCain- A "maverick" when it's convenient....
Edited on Thu Oct-02-08 08:30 AM by TwoSparkles
What a crock!

John McCain touts his "sheriff" and "maverick" labels, and also
his claim that he is against pork. McCain has sauntered around
this country, screeching campaign slogans about earmarks and lambasting
lawmakers who add pork to legislation.

"I will make them famous and you will know their names!"

Looks like Mr. "Sheriff" and "The Maverick" only rally against
pork when it's convenient--and on the campaign trail when no
courage is needed--only cheerleading from the podium.

The new bailout bill is loaded up with pork. Tax breaks for
rum producers, Hollywood producers, race tracks builders, etc.

Guess who is for the bailout bill, and guess who is justifying the
pork and allowing that pork to slide on by? That's right. John McCain.
When Mika Brezinski asked McCain about the pork in the bailout bill
and why he didn't fight against it, McCain became defensive and
said that he's fought against pork many times before.

But not this time, right Senator McCain?

This hypocrite just missed an opportunity to demonstrate some leadership
and to show that his campaign rhetoric is really more than just words.

Guess not.

And just for the record...I do not know the Senators' names
who loaded up this bailout bill with pork. And just for the record,
they are not famous
.
