Freepers Heads Explode (Now Justifying that an Obama win will be good)
Well, I'm not quite sure what to say. Some of them are starting to see the reality. But their spin is still bizarre.

Obama will win... and that's good news for the GOP

I know, the title is creepy, but before jumping at me, just consider these facts...

1. IT IS THE WORST TIME TO BE IN POWER FOR ANY NATIONAL PARTY America has been suffering the worst economic crisis since 1929. Americans are blaming the party ruling the executive branch for this rout, and that's why McCain numbers are so low. Now think that Obama will begin his presidency with America depressed. The power will be 100% controlled by Democrats, and the anger of the folks will turn against them.

2. DECMOCRATS WILL HATE OBAMA JUST AS THEY NOW HATE THEIR DEMOCRATIC CONGRESS Obama is unable to achieve his promises, either on healthcare or social security. There is simply no money for these projets in tough economic times. An Obama presidency won't be Democratic at all, just as the 2006 democratic Congress ended up being the all-time worst, according to Democrats themselves.

3. - AMERICAN FOREIGN POLICY IN TOUGH ECONOMIC TIMES WILL PURSUE STATUS QUO, NO MATTER WHO IS IN CHARGE With an economic crisis at home, Americans will be careful and will probably cherish the status quo abroad. Israel is ready to strike Iran. If Israel moves wisely, the Iranian threat could be destroyed, even with Obama at the White House.

4. - THE BEST WAY TO DESTROY DEMOCRATS IS TO LET AN UNEXPERIENCED, RADICAL LEFTIE RULE THE COUNTRY DURING A RECESSION American taxpayers will never forget an Obama presidency... and this will open a freeway for Republicans in the decades following 2012.

Read the responses... it's worth a .

26. That was my first thought.
To paraphrase Pyrrhus of Epicus: Another such victory (for the Freeps) and the GOP shall be utterly ruined.

Actually they're probably fucked anyways...if we trendline out another 4,8, and 12 years on population trends, there is a good chance that current battlegrounds will be solidly Democratic. Philly is growing while middle PA is stagnant and No. VA and coastal VA is growing while central and SW VA are shrinking in population. Both moves have been accompanied by a slow bluing of the states.

LOL! It's all Carter's fault!
And apparently the fundamentals of the economy are NOT sound! We are headed for a depression. And Obama will cancel the 2012 election!   Talk about projection! The freepers would love to have this one "cancelled." I find that concept crazy when people talk it up on DU, but it's funny that the freepers have that fear, too. There's no way to "cancel" the election without the cooperation of every one of the 50 states.

7. I love the logic. The radical leftie president won't be able to do anything radically leftist,
so everything will stay the same as it is now, except the Iranian threat could be destroyed, therefore Americans will hate Obama, QED.

Oh.My.God.

Assuming that Obama permits the 2012 elections to be held, of course.

If this man is truly as dangerous as his associations suggest, he might just use the economic crisis to create a dictatorship.

12. They don't get that Shrub/Mctroll=Hoover and Obama = FDR
Edited on Thu Oct-02-08 08:45 AM by Jennicut
They make me laugh hysterically. Taking over in an ecomomic crisis and leading the nation out of that crisis will make Obama one of the best presidents we have ever had. Even if he can't get healthcare on the table there will be huge differences and changes made. Just like when Clinton had to clean up the trickle down crap of Bush/Reagan. The man left a freakin surplus. Obama may not be able to do that given the huge level of the deficit now but he can make it much better. Funny how for all their fiscal "conservatism" the Rethugs left us bankrupt and teetering on a depression and they all gave Shrub a free pass over it. McTroll, "I am for Bush's tax cuts now" included.

What would this extremist individual resort to?

Respectfully disagree. B Hussein Obama launched his career in the living room of an unrepentant American terrorist. This man can NOT be allowed to be Commander in Chief.

16. Yeah, starting his Presidency in the midst of an economic crisis...
Obama's sure to be a one-term President, because no OTHER President has ever managed to regain the nation's trust and confidence when taking office in the midst of tough economic times, right? Have these people never heard of Franklin Roosevelt?

I'm looking forward to at least a decade of democratic party controlled government. Maybe President Obama and the democratic Congress can save the middle class and give ALL citizens a shot at the american dream.

To: Loyalist

Of course DU is already predicting (for the fourth time in the last 6 years) that martial law will be in place before the election or at least before the inauguration.

MY RESPONSE:
Hey "Loyalist" (as in to the crown?):

It you rat Rethug bastards that don't like democracy, at least in this country. A reminder, it was your pResident that fought tooth and nail against counting votes in 2000, was appointed by a 5-4 vote of unelected judges that were owned by the GOP, and used dirty tricks in 2004 to steal the election. Since we stole 1960, and you guys stole 2000 and 2004, you guys still owe us one.

If she can somehow reverse the impression she left in the last few interviews, it could get competitive again.
If she uncorks one more Miss Teen South Carolina state-of-consciousness ramble (that will be replayed ad nauseam by the talking head shows and late-night comics), it's all over.
