McCain on CNN....wow, he is really crabby.
Somebody should tell him to just go ahead and look pissed off when he is pissed off. Instead he does this shit-eating-grin-thing that makes him look a tad evil. And he keeps talking over Kieran Chetry. And Chetry is being surprisingly assertive. McCain is attack-attack-attack.

1. The hate is still there though. It's all in his eyes.
It's like he wants to burn a hole through everyone in the room.

10. evil grandpa
He reminds me of the grandpa who -- once the family has left the room -- pinches the baby just to make it cry.

4. He has EVERY right to be crabby... he knows all to well that his campaign is imploding in 12 hours.
Seriously.. he knows exactly how well or NOT WELL Gov. Palin did at the house in AZ this week.. and he knows that he either has to pull a rabbit out of his hat in 12 hours.. or his hailmary pass that he threw back at the end of August is about to be intercepted and run back for a game ending touchdown by Sen. Biden in exactly 12 hours from now.

If you knew that.. if you were 72, and this was your last shot in life to finally achieve your dream, and you realized that the American Public was about to find out how hollow you are.. wouldn't you be a bit pissy too?

:)

17. What a great post...
Spot on.
On Morning Joe, he kept repeating, "She'll be just fine." Over and over, as if he was trying to actually convince himself.
You're right. He KNOWS how she will do. He has nervously watched her rehearsing/cramming at the "ranch".

22. Nope.. i don't think he can realistcally do that.
He dug his grave.. now he has to lie in it.

Seriously.. people in many states have already started voting.. her name is on all of the ballots. And, taking her off would piss off the few Right Wing Fundies & Women who are only voting for him because of her.

And, it's gonna be tough to add someone who actually knows what the hell they're doing at this point. No one is going to want to go near a McCain VP spot even if it does open up.. they all know he's going to lose at this point.. and that McCain is bat-shit crazy. Anyone with real political aspirations is going to want to stay clear of McCain so they have a shot in 2012.

I think McCain is stuck with Sarracuda.. and he knows it.

27. Sorry, but even the far right nut jobs are going to want her off the ticket.
When they lose they will want to blame anyone but another right wing fundie (Palin). They don't want to go down with the ship, they will want to blame McPanic and his new pick so they can say they were right and McPanic was wrong. They will be royally pissed if Palin stays and McPanic loses.

25. Palin still draws crowds at McCain events
if McCain drops her, he will be campaigning to empty seats in the next month. Let her excite the MORANS. That's all McCain has and he can't win the general election with just MORANS.

41. and that's why Obamam did not do town halls with McCain
can't trust McCain. They would have set up Obama with paid people to keep the discussion on Rev Wright or Aires. They would never let Obama discuss the economy or health care.

43. exactly.. it hurts his over-inflated ego.. that he's going down in history as the first guy
to get beat by a white guy.. and that pisses him off more then anything. He wouldn't mind losing to Romney, Huckabee or Guiliani nearly as much. This is an "Against everything else.. people would still rather see a black guy in office then me".

And, that hurts him because he can't see the fact that people love Obama in SPITE of the fact that he's black. I hate to put it that way.. but a lot of people who are voting for him are doing so against what they've been taught or how they've been brought up. That in itself shows how unique and "once in a lifetime" type of a politician he is.. but McCain would not and could not ever recognize that.

5. I never got the meaning of "shit eating grin" before
But your right! That is exactly how he looks, a look of visceral disgust. He makes it so you can hardly stand to watch him, but then, if it helps to get him to get not elected, I like it!

That someone is smiling, but their disgust and dis-ingenuousness still shines through.

6. Maybe he's trying to use crabby as a mirror
since most of the electorate is feeling pretty crabby right now too. But what should make him really panic is that when you look at him, you remember that you're feeling crabby and ungenerous. While when you look at Obama, you suddenly feel hopeful and calm.

11. "Give in to your anger!"

My wife and I were talking about this last night, after Olbermann played the clips of the McCain interview from yesterday where he was being really testy!

We agreed that he should keep on doing interviews and showing the voters the real McCain!

I could imagine Palpatine encouraging him to feel the hate flowing through him.
