The response to the "executive experience" rip is simple.
ANd George W Bush had 4 times the experience you have Sarah and where has that left us?

It is not about executive background, is it much more about sober judgement and having consistency of temperment and intellect.
Thsse thing are sorely lacking on the GOP ticket,

6. You're right. That makes it a stronger statement.
It also avoids the inevitable RepubliCon response that Biden didn't show Palin proper deference or respect by calling her "Sarah" instead of "Governor."

5. I like the point another made: It's an insidious attempt to marginalize the 2 CO-EQUAL BRANCHES

of the GOVERNMENT.
To claim that ANY level---local, state, business---of an EXECUTIVE is SUPERIOR TO the UNITED STATES CONGRESS!

I.e., another aspect of the Bushco attempt to make the U.S. Executive a dictatorship (Cf. "signing statements").

8. If you are hiring someone...and we are hiring our next president.
You would look at their WHOLE resume. Fine, they have equal experience...what about education. A quick look at Wikipedia will tell you that Michelle Obama's education is better than McCain and Palin together. I bet their grade point average added together would be lower than hers, and of course, Obama's. If anyone downplays education and intelligence just ask them this: Is that what you tell your children, the don't have to work hard in school, they don't have to get good grades or get into a good college. They do fine if they slack off. I'm willing to bet that many of the people driving around with their "my kid is an honor student" bumpersticker, are voting for McCain.

12. I like Fareed Zakaria's answer too.
85 percent of Alaska's State revenue comes from royalties for drilling holes in the ground, being Governor of Alaska might be relevant experience for being President of Saudi Arabia, but not for being President of the USA.
