Why didn't Palin say "Plessy vs. Ferguson"??
It's the EASIEST Supreme Court decision to disagree with. Every high school kid knows that this was the decision that brought about "Separate but equal" and Jim Crow. Katie Couric threw Palin a softball and Palin wasn't even in the park.

1. She would have had to have at least heard of it first...
chances are, she never has... sadly, we graduate people from college all the time that probably only know of Roe V. Wade, and that is only due to the fact the rabid right constantly harps on how they want it overturned.

4. Joe Biden, when given this question, got away with describing the case but not naming it
But that's okay because he still answered the motherfucking question!

Video here for a direct contrast:

6. yes, it's not just a matter of naming people, places etc
but explaining your position and your thoughts on things.

that she is not able to do that is what most shows she is not prepared to be President.
i bet more college students are able to give a better answer to the questions she is asked than she has given.

the Charlie Gibson question about the Bush doctrine is one of the best examples of this. ok, she didn't know what he meant by the "bush doctrine" but when he told her she should have been able to give an answer. instead she gave some bs talking points and had no idea what she was talking about.

27. Biden's answer was great
Very informative, educational and a clear view of how he thinks. Too bad the media only plays Palin's answer, and not both of them.

If they played both, the contrast between the two would be even greater, and Palin would look like a bigger fool.

8. she doesn't know because she's faked her way all this time
It's obvious she was one of those not very good students who could blend in and get by on her personality and looks in schools where no one was very bright. She could not pass a citizenship test, and I am not being facetious.

21. first of all-- how many americans COULD pass a citizenship test?
i am ashamed to say-- not many. probably not me.

but, i have been thinking about the bs stuff she spews. reminds me of when i was in school and had to write a paper and would bs my way through it. normal for high school.... scary for potential president.

13. She could've just agreed with McCain's scorn for the recent decision on enemy combatants' rights...

...or the recent decision both McCain and Obama derided regarding the application of the death penalty.

They're both slam dunks for scoring points with her party, and probably a good share of independents.

Of course, both of those decisions were over a month ago. Who can remember things that far back?

Maybe all she could think about was how much she hated Brown vs. Board of Education, and she knew that was a hot potato.

26. There were many she could have said
Lawrence v. the state of Texas (2003), which basically legalized homosexuality throughout the United States, the Miranda case, the case that Larry Flynt prevailed on against Jerry Falwell, Brown v. Board of Education, the Supreme Court's involvement in the 2000 election, and so on. She just had to demonstrate some knowledge -- any knowledge, and one would certainly think that a competent national leader, even caught offguard, could have come up with something.

28. Maybe she AGREES with the Plessy decision!
Think about it. She said she disagreed with anything that took the power to decide away from the states. That was a key issue in Brown v. Board of Education!

Does this woman disagree with Brown v. Board of Ed???
