Can you imagine the pundits insisting that McCain must be careful with Obama because he's black
and McCain doesn't want to risk looking like he's being too hard on a black person?

So why is it ok for them to go on and on and on and on about how Biden must tread lightly with Palin because he can't risk pissing off women by appearing to be "piling on" a female?

Interesting dynamic.

1. It's really ridiculous
As Biden has said himself, he debates women in the Senate all the time. It's not like he's never debated a woman before....

He doesn't have to do anything but be himself and give Governor Klondike Bar enough rope to hang herself.

2. Because Sexism and Racism are both alive and well....
and that is exactly the actions that you have just described.

To assert that one must be careful with a woman is sexist.

To promote a racist campaign against the Black candidate is racist.

They are being quite consistent.

4. Exactly - but the media is warning Biden to be careful without batting an eye
yet they would grind into the dirt anyone who even suggested that Obama was entitled to some deference because of his race. Even worse, they shout down anyone who suggests that Obama is being subjected to any form of racism.

3. I agree with you, perhaps they should show a clip of the time she went on and on
about how Sen Clinton should be able to take it or get out of the race so to speak...and right before the debate, in fact I am disgusted one again for the trillionth time that the media is not showing this clip as proof that the debate should be seen as one of the most important debates this country will ever bare witness to, and demand the issues that we the citizens are concerned about be addressed with intelligence and honesty.....

I swear, thankfully I am now able to view Maddow otherwise I would despise any and all media outlets..at least she has the guts to take her job seriously and with the passion this country needs to ensure honesty and integrity are demanded by our political leaders....

5. That is an excellent point - that video has been completely lost in the shuffle
I haven't heard a peep about it.

11. It's obvious this clip is being ignored for a reason..game over if it was used and had acutaly air
time and they sure don't want to show the end too soon, proof postive they care more about the grandstanding than the good of this country...

8. you're right, they SHOULD show that!
I watched some of AC630, and they had a little segment on Palin and Biden's "debate" styles (of course, they had to get in all of Biden's debating against Obama specifically too), and they had a REPUBLICAN women provide "analysis" in the segment (one of those segments with a voiceover, not a commentator). She said "Biden has to go after her, without going after her...he can't be seen as condescending...women will be angry if Joe Biden goes after her too hard.." Oh yeah, keep telling yourself that, Repukey. Most women I know would like Biden to tear her condescending ass apart tomorrow, but the media would never let him.

9. Absolutely!
Sometimes the obvious needs to be said. I've learned that in my life. Don't let the obvious be assumed. Say it. You did. Thanks for doing so.
