"As Putin rears his head and comes into the air space of the United States of America, where– where do they go? It’s Alaska. It's just right over the border." --Sarah Palin, explaining why Alaska's proximity to Russia gives her foreign policy experience, interview with CBS's Katie Couric, Sept. 24, 2008

"As for that VP talk all the time, I'll tell you, I still can't answer that question until somebody answers for me what is it exactly that the VP does every day?" --Sarah Palin, interview with CNBC's "Kudlow & Co", July 2008

"That's exactly what we're going to do in a Palin and McCain administration." --Sarah Palin, elevating herself to the top of the ticket, Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Sept. 18, 2008

"I was panicked a bit because I really don't know about . . . the Cuban Missile Crisis," said Perino, who at 35 was born about a decade after the 1962 U.S.-Soviet nuclear showdown. "It had to do with Cuba and missiles, I'm pretty sure."

So she consulted her best source. "I came home and I asked my husband," she recalled. "I said, 'Wasn't that like the Bay of Pigs thing?' And he said, 'Oh, Dana.'

On The New Kids On the Block: "They are my Beatles. They are the Beatles of my generation."

On love: "Obviously, no one's denied the right to marry, you could marry someone of the opposite sex."

On the morning-after pill: "It's the same thing as birthing a baby and leaving it out in the street!"

"If we don't succeed, we run the risk of failure."

"A low voter turnout is an indication of fewer people going to the polls."

"I stand by all the misstatements that I've made."

7. Wow, Quayle actually sounds intelligent (compartively)
I've read and heard stories of Quayle's ineptitude, like his misspelling of "potato." (I was a little too young to remember Bush 41's reign.) But, I think we've found a large number of Republicans that make him look statesman-like! And, it's not just Palin! (I think Hasselbeck makes Palin look almost like Hillary Clinton in comparsion...)

3. I like Dana Perino....not the person, just my fantasy of her.
I want to rescue her from the FAIL that is Bush and her whole life and take her away to a subtropical island, but not too small, and build a hut with her and our pet lizards.

15. Sherri from the View

Sherri Shepherd Doesn't Get That Whole BC Thing, Insists "Jesus Came First"

December 4, 2007 01:06 PM
Danny Shea

For whatever reason, the ladies on "The View" were discussing ancient Greek philosopher Epicurus this morning. Naturally, talk soon migrated to the topic of religion, and Sherri "I don't know if the world is flat" Shepherd came out to play. More specifically, to spew ignorance and a complete lack of understanding of basic world history! Discussing whether Christians were around during Epicurus' time (Epicurus lived from 341-270 B.C.), Sherri chimed in, " had Christians 'cause they threw them to the lions."

When Whoopi tried to cautiously navigate her through the timeline of basic world events, saying, "I think this might predate that," Sherri responded, "I don't think anything predated Christians." Joy's attempt to explain the Greek-Roman-Christian chronology was futile, as Sherri insisted, "Jesus came first before them."

16. Is Sherri a Republican?
I mean, she's certainly stupid enough to qualify, but I wasn't sure if she actually claimed to be a pug or if she was more of a 'politics is hard, I'll just worship jeeezus some more' kind of person.

17. Sherri Shepherd, McCain Supporter
Sherri Shepherd: Palin's Five Kids Make Her Qualified To Be President

The ladies of "The View" are back from hiatus and were raring to go Tuesday morning. Predictably, one topic of discussion was McCain VP pick Sarah Palin. Co-hosts Sherri Shepherd and Elisabeth Hasselbeck are very excited about McCain's selection, and they wasted no time defending the choice and explaining her qualifications. Apparently, according to Sherri, PTA meetings make one qualified to be president. "You tell me what mother cannot run the country after having five kids?" Sherri asked.
