6. There are differences but the House may just take the bill as is and vote on it.
If they know they have the votes to pass it.

I worked all day, hosted a phonebanking, ran out to catch my daughter's swim meet and just ate and plopped down about 45 mintues ago, so I truly am in the dark here.

17. A few.
-less regulation really.
-I think they did a weird credit swap
But they didn't detail.

But I think when Obama becomes Pres, he's going to strike this bill and nationalise all these banks.

11. They stayed in, the house speakers talked about it.
They put a caps on CEOs and oversight has increased but it seems only to the board they're creating. So far it seems nothing has been applied to SEC or Wall Street.

A poster here advised a great plan, which was to tax people who invest in the market and tax people who leave the market. This would definitely make people question stop playing with the market measures.

19. Of the CEO caps?
No I don't. It was stated during the floor debates. I think the Rep of Oklahoma was talking about it and Obama talked about it. I don't have the text though. I just heard it, because they had boards up detailing what's maintained. Dodd also referred to it in response to the Senator from Florida's statement on Golden Parachutes. <---I remember those details because he was about two speakers or so before Obama and interupted the time of one of the speakers.

23. Obama requested that something be inserted into the House bill
that if taxpayers don't make all their money back from asset sales, then a tax be levied by the President until taxpayers are repaid. I am curious to see if that was in the Senate bill.

I cannot find the darn text of the bill, though.

26. Dunno where it is. But yes Obama did say that is in the bill.
So if he said they are, I'm sure they are. YOu could always email him and we could harass Obama to point out where exactly in the bill some of his measures were met.

I think he would respond kindly to that and definitely help us out and it could posted here. So that's a great idea if you want to run with it. He might have an updated version of the bill.

18. Many over there were saying they wouldn't vote for him if he voted for it.
Should be interesting to see what the reaction is now that he has finalized his vote. The tone over there is turning more and more negative towards McLiar.

No mention of Bob Barr. So I guess the freepers are off the list and McCain just lost officially.

31. I haven't read the text...
But from how I've heard it described is that it has a bunch of tax cuts and general pork, plus less regulation than the original bill.

Huffington Post has the full text of the bill at the above link.

Sorry for the delayed response, I'm baking cookies for tomorrow night's debate party! :D

29. Everyone preferred it and it had more regulations.
But there is always an upside. I'm just thinking, after hopefully the HOuse passes, that if we push the issue and keep it always in the forefront----Obama will follow through with establishing a new bill, one that is far more restrictive of the market and heavy on regulations. I think it would be phenomenol to tax investors---less messing with the market structure that way. I also really support the idea of nationalizing the banks. Because really they're out of control.

If Kerry is successful in managing to turn the senate into 60% Dem, then we score.
