These tax cuts in the Senate Bill- Did DEMS fight to give me one too?
Edited on Wed Oct-01-08 07:35 PM by Dr Fate
I heard that they had to give tax cuts to make this bill easier for people to agree with.

Were they talking about me? I would certainly be more willing to agree with it if this tax cut meant direct cash releief for me. Does it?

I make around $30K a year, and my bills, debts & rent amount to about $5000 per month (I constantly default on my loan payments)- so I end up shelling out about $3000 of that, with zero- I mean ZERO savings.

Surely our good DEMS fought tooth and nail for tax relif for folks like ME as well on this-right?

Will DEMS be giving me any relief in the form of a tax cut- relief similar to what DEMS might be willing to provide for say, a millionare banker?

I hope am not being sarcastic in advnace here- will these tax cuts allow people like me to take home a substantially larger portion of our checks?

If am getting a tax cut- does any whiz kid out there know how much it might be for?

1. Please realize that this is only one step in this process.
Please let us try to put out this fire so we can focus on electing Barack Obama who can do more to fix this mess. This is not over.

3. And in one step, they could have given me a tax cut instead of giving it to Republicans.

That is who got tax cuts right- the demographic that mostly votes Republican?

You can put out "fires" and give the middle class tax relief at the same time- dont give me that crap.

6. It's really too bad there's no comfort in "I told you so"
If there were, you'd be feeling pretty good in about six months when the whole thing comes crashing down.

How many times do you suppose BushCo will come back for more money... URGENTLY? I have to admit I was surprised at how many times they came begging to fund the ill-conceived and ill-managed war. Six months might be too long, now that I ponder that thought.

2. I'll give you a hint...
The squeeky wheel gets the grease.

Were you squeeking?

I'm betting you weren't... at least you weren't heard over the din of corporate America wanting their piece of this action.

4. So you are saying that middleclass voters havent been pleading loudly for economic relief? LOL!
Edited on Wed Oct-01-08 07:48 PM by Dr Fate
The middle class voters havent been voicing opposition to a bill that doesnt seem to provide them any direct or equitable relief...

This isnt our fault-thier phones have been rigning off the hook.

Besides, most voters are against the bail out as a whole- that's a whole lot of sqeeky wheels being ignored as well.

They heard us over the din of corporate America just fine, they just know it's easier to screw us than it is to fight them.

5. No, that's not what I'm saying at all...
I'm saying that as loud as the middleclass has squeeked, it's not loud enough... maybe for the reason you state in your last dozen or so words here.

9. A chunk of it was the ceiling change on the AMT they pass every year
This bill was attached to the AMT bill because that's a "must pass" measure for House pugs.
