I saw someone on TV say that Palin will become
a leading figure in the Republican party, win or lose the election.
Are the GOP that bankrupt for leadership?
Do people actually take her seriously?

She is not someone I would want to speak with at a party, or in any situation beyond a few words.
She strikes me as a boring self-centered idiot with possible brain damage.
She does not speak English well, and evidently can not think beyond a junior high school level at best.

Does anyone see her as having a future in national politics when the Republicans lose this election?

Please tell me no.

in a feeble effort to build her up with the hopes that stupid people in the Republican Party will go along with that notion.

She will lead the evangelical crazy fundy base morons.

The Wall Street country club banker republicans will form a third party and abandon the idiots once and for all.

The republican brand is dead.

10. The GOP is desperately searching for a new Reagan, and she's the closest thing they've got.
The Republicans have this fantasy idea of what Reagan was like, and they've deified him into a sort of political saint. Then they're outraged when none of their candidates can "live up" to the legend of the Mighty Reagan.

Seriously, how many candidates were in the Republican primaries this year? Huckabee, Romney, McCain, Tancredo, Hunter, Giuliani, Paul... am I missing anyone? They hated ALL of them! None of them were as perfect as Fantasy Reagan is.

The truth is, conservatives are looking for a folk hero, and Sarah Palin's frontier wildwoman background suits them to a tee. If Sarah wants to be a big player in the GOP, she'll be one, because they don't care that she doesn't know what she's talking about. They're just looking for a hero to worship.

12. Reagan at least could engage in a conversation,
and had a sense of humor. He could be charming at times.
I have yet to see evidence of any good qualities in Palin other than she does appear to keep herself clean.

I think the GOP may split, but I think it will be the Religious Right who leaves, possibly to ally with the Constitutional Party or some similar group, leaving the right rich as the Republicans.
The GOP would then have money, but no talent of much interest to lead them, while the Religious party would have charismatic snake handlers - and Palin.
I'm sadly pretty sure she will not go quietly back to Alaska.

14. Nope. Erin Elizabeth's crystal ball prediction:
Obama will win in November and he'll win BIG. Like, way too big for any shenanigans on the part of the GOP.

Palin will go back to Alaska with her tail tucked between her legs, her approval rating will continue to drop there (it's gone from in the 80s to in the 60s since she got put on the McCain ticket) and she'll lose her re-election bid for governor. She'll be forgotten within a year.

McCain will go back to the senate and retire shortly for "health reasons." The next time we will hear about him will be to hear about his passing.

They will both be marginal figures, her more than him, by January 2010.

Obama gave a killer speech at the last convention and look where he is now.

Maybe the Republicans are delusional enough to think they can capitalize on Palin's mini post-convention bounce to create the Party's next superstar?

The Fiscal Conservatives are getting sick and tired of the Evangelicals' bullshit. If the Evangelicals win, then Palin may still have a future. If the Fiscal Conservatives win (not likely, given that the fundies have a lot of voting power, especially in rural districts and states) then she'll fade away into obscurity.

of Justice charges (just to name one) yet to be dealt with in Alaska.
What are the penalties of such a finding? Considering Workers Comp is a Federal Program would she go to Federal Prison?
And what about Todd's involvement in this one. Surely she cannot claim Executive Privilege on this, since someone's already spilled the beans on this case.
Palin will have her hands full, and after the de-selection of McPalin in November, the fat-cat DC attorneys may just abandon their protection of Palin.

She'll have to do some really really fast talking to walk away from this one.

stay tuned.

Chuck Norris said that Sarah Palin was the best decision McCain ever made and that he supported them. I couldn't believe it.

WTF???? What happened to Chuck? By supporting Palin, he is no longer a friend to American Natives and their spiritual ways and honor nature and wildlife. How in the world did he go over to the dark side?

Intelligent people who are scared about her limitations can't tell from her on-camera behavior if she's a lost cause or can be educated... they're excited by her charisma but are freaked out that she might actually be more stupid than bush, if such a thing were possible.
