The Democratic Party needs to purge itself of these so-called Democrats who are actually Republicans. I know this may mean the majority of the party will be gone but it needs to be done. Maybe we need to submit a list of Democrats that need to go such as Joe Lieberman, etc.

I know this will be giving the House and the Senate to the Republicans for a very long time but it must be done.

1. No one who wants Bush out would make such a statement.

3. Hey, No You are Absolutely Correct.....
I don't understand why the hell Liberman and Miller want to stay in a party they don't even have anything in common with. All they are doing is fucking things up. They don't vote with the party that much anyway. I think they hurt things more than help.

Like you said you are losing two seats but you would be better off in the long run I think. You can count on the Northeast senators on some things as they still have an intellect.

Guess Liberman is in the Northeast but lacks somewhat.

4. So when we "purge" the ten or so centrist Democrats in the senate,
we can no longer hold a filibuster and they can roll right over us. You want MORE rightwing judges? You want Scalia as Chief Justice and fools like Alan Keyes on the Supreme Court? Well, thats exactly what you're asking for. Its time to remodel the house and you want us to burn it down instead.

Successful politics is about compromise, not extremist purity.

7. The GOP controls all branches of government already.
The GOP is already in complete control the GOP Democrats have not stopped this from happening. People like Ell Miller, Joe Lieberman and others need to go.

9. That's hysterical
Is that why the GOP was unable to make Bush*'s tax cuts permanent? Because "the GOP is in complete control"?

Is that why Bush* didn't get his extreme right-wing judges approved? Because "the GOP is in complete control"?

Is that why Bush*'s school vouchers were removed from NCLB legislation? Because "the GOP is in complete control"?

5. I don't love Lieberman
but he still votes with the other Dems about 80 percent of the time. Zell is clearly not the norm.

6. We have no power to purge anyone under the law.
Under every state's law, anyone who wants to enroll as a Democrat can do so and cannot be kicked out of the party. They have to leave voluntarily.

11. There Are DU'ers Here Who Gave Many of Us Hell About Criticizing Miller.
I will protect their identities since it's obvious that they told post here extolling Zell's great attributes anymore.

Still, their silence is...GOLDEN.

And it does feel good to say I TOLD YOU SO.

15. Hi David! I'll admit to being one of those you refer to who
defended Zell. Friends from Georgia told me he was a very good, smart, and moderately progressive governor and lt governor. He initiated the Hope Scholarships that sent thousands of young Georgians to college and worked hard for preschool education, teachers and universities. Then, when he was appointed to the senate, something changed drastically. Some say that prostate surgery left him impotent and incontinent and that he's extremely bitter-I don't know. But, yes, I am one of those who defended Zell once. I'm man enough to admit my mistakes because I, unfortunately, am not always perfect.

Guess that makes me a "flip-flopper". I'm in pretty good company.

12. Most if not all Democrats in office believe in Trickle Down.
Most believe in Reaganomics, Complete Deregulation and want a free market with no rules.

14. Sounds like you want to be the the Green Party, or some such
What you are suggesting is neither Democratic nor democratic. This is not the year to be talking purge, or getting rid of the majority of the party. That is fringe party talk.
