I just permitted myself a look at the stage area at the RNC Hatefest. I've been avoiding all tv pictures of it this week.

That circular stage looks an awful lot like an anus.

Is BoyGeorge really going to rise from the center of it for his speech?

If he does, he's going to look an awful lot like a piece of crap being crapped out.

Somehow, I find that image appropriate.

Would you believe an unemployed former newspaper reporter? Sometimes I write trade magazine articles on thrilling topics like Indoor Air Quality Improved with Desiccant Dehumidification, Cogeneration with Natural Gas Turbines, or Motor Management. Really.

I'm 52, female, married, with daughters 21 and 18, who think I dropped a bit too much LSD back in the late 60's (though not since then). Especially when they act rude at the dinner table, which is my cue to torment them by breaking into a pathetic imitation of Grace Slick singing "White Rabbit."

Speaking of 60s music, wouldn't the perfect theme song for King George, when he's a-rising from his hemorrhoidal cave, be

I was getting really excited about GWB rising upfrom the stage, but he pooped out on us. All we got was the podium rising up.

At first it looked like a pit was opening at his feet, and I thought, "Maybe the jerk will stumble and fall into it. Better yet,an arm will reach out with a long hook and yank him down."

No such luck.

But the way he was grinning he looked like he was stuffed to the gills with happy pills.

Have a nice trip, Georgie. Enjoy it while you can.
