I will not be watching the debate tomorrow night.. Rant
Edited on Wed Oct-01-08 02:46 PM by peacetrain
I will be in here relying on others for a play by play. I cannot handle Palins voice. I cannot handle the thought of Palins voice. It is that irritating. Between that and the fact that the right wing is trying to stifle Ifel, I am just plain old mad!

Now if it had been a male moderator, they would have drug that meme out they have been using lately, you better be nice to her. The one where we need to be "deferential" to the queen of the snows.

But they could not do that with Gwen, so they go on a racist bender.

Is there anyway, we can give that 25 - 30 % of the electorate, their own couple of states, build a wall around it so they can never cross over into the rest of the country to spew their hate, and let them just NASTY AWAY!

Some of them tried that around 1862. They lost

37. Politics were a bit different then.
Back then, it was the Republicans that were the progressives, pushing radical new ideas like ending slavery, while the Democrats were the obnoxious conservatives.

2. I will nothing could stop me

That is my position the day before the debate

During the actual debate I listen to these guys for about 3 minutes and fold turn off the sound and watch the viewer response lines on CNN and then I end up back her talking with you on DU trying to not have my BP cause blood to spurt out my ears.

But for right now I plan to watch every minute lol.

5. I fear for my tv
:).. Shoes could go right through the screen.. and I am not a person prone to throwing things, quite the opposite. Her voice reminds me of a story about entertainment tonight, when a viewer watched, one of the commentators, they would go into convulsions at the sound of their voice.

I am getting close to that

3. I've thought that way (about red states) for a long time.
Bill Maher just said something about that -- was it on TDS last night or his last Real Time? Anyway, it's as if that red state mentality is really an enormous drag on the rest of us in the reality based community who want to read, question, learn, appreciate the other people of the world, save the planet, feed the children. Red-state thinkers are like gum on my shoe.

You are so correct!
I am thoroughly sick of them...in every way. I wish they could just all be herded up and shipped off to some hell-hole where they could all fight amongst themselves and leave the rest of us alone to live our lives in peace. It's as though they have yet to evolve into human beings. And they are PROUD of it. The stupider the better.

12. Oh fuck, I didn't think of that
I was looking forward to watching Joe but I forgot to think of the fact that I'd be subjected to Palin's voice! FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCKITY FUCK FUCK FUCK! FUCK!!!!

How am I gonna get through 90 minutes of hearing her nasal voice? I love listening to Joe but it's also sheer torture to listen to Palin's voice for prolonged periods of time. I have trouble listening to 5 minute clips of her, much less NINETY FUCKING MINUTES.

OMFG... I'll still try to watch the debates but GODDAMMIT, my ears are gonna be permanently damaged afterward.

You can't make this up..I can not even imagine what is going to come out of her mouth tomorrow. No one can question her except the moderator, who they are trying to stifle now, so my guess she is going to go off like anne coulter or rush limbaugh..

All that attitude will look mighty silly without knowing anything. Biden knows his stuff, and he's learned a lot of lessons over the past few election years.

Joe Six Pack... ugh! She is really special, isn't she?

Seems to me the McCain camp didn't have any issues with Ifill before they selected their VP candidate, only when she turned out to be such a dunderhead.

I really think it is an attempt to keep her from doing follow up questions. That is what the republicans are good at. Intimidation, or attempting too.

23. Can we get rid of the Ayn Rand libertarian types too?
Let them go try to create a little blissful utopia where capitalism reigns supreme, the markets are unfettered by silly regulations, and the government is so small as to be nonexistent, and see how long it lasts. It would be a great experiment, if nothing else.

I will try my best to look beyond her voice tomorrow night. Her voice grates on my nerves too, but I think I can take 90 minutes of it, especially if it's broken up into small chunks by Ifill and Biden. We'll see how it goes.

would work. DU gives a play by play, so you can read what they're saying rather than trying to read lips. Then you can always catch the re-airing of it later. I watch the debates, but there have been many things I've 'watched' here too.
