QUICK you have minute to reply to this post - What Newspapers do you read?
Edited on Wed Oct-01-08 11:33 AM by LynneSin
Delaware News Journal (I'm from Delaware)

Outside of that I pick up the headlines usually from Philly Inquirer, New York Times, and Washington Post. Oh and I read the online cartoon page from Seattle PI (they have Funky Winkerbean, Mutts and Jumpstart).

Oh, and some weekly that is dumped off on my porch each week for Wilmington.

See I can do it Sarah - why can't you. Geez, she couldn't even name her local paper.

Edit note: I read all my papers online. I have this unusual adversion to newpaper print. Probably from my years of force servitude of doing my brother's paper route when he was doing afer school activities

Now USA Today seems like a "substantial" paper with "gravitas"...that's how low we have come...

I stopped suscribing around 2000...

used to be an avid reader - couldn't wait to get my hands on a Newsweek and read it cover to cover...

but who needs any of these repuke propaganda outlets when I can get all my news online from MANY sources...

use to read the Buffalo Evening News and the Buffalo Courier Express before

Honolulu Advertiser and Honolulu Star Bulletin before

Las Vegas Sun via the Las Vegas Review Journal before I canceled that piece of repuke garbage...

66. Shoot - where do we start (thanks to places like this)?
WaPo, NYTimes, LATimes, NY Daily News, WSJ, Boston Globe, LA Daily News, UK Guardian, UK Independent, San Francisco Chronicle, Financial Times, and articles from umpteen other papers around the country and the world. How many stories from different papers do any of us see and read and pour over here, on any given day?

72. Every day I read the NY Times, the Washington Post,
the Boston Globe and the News-Times (local paper). I regularly read at least 4, often up to 10 news/blogs a day, and watch at least 3 different news/cable news channels. If I have time, I also read the LA Times and the Chicago Trib - don't get to those more than about once a week, though. I typically browse through key articles in Time, Newsweek, US News & WR. Even if I didn't regularly do this, I would think that if I were running for a national office, I'd be at least smart enough to rattle off a few of those names. Sheesh! Dumber than a box o'rox is she!

75. I also do not usually read any print edition newspapers.
I read online news articles from our local newspaper (News Gazette) along with Chicago Trib and Sun Times. I also read a Google News several times a day for headlines and breaking news from all over the world.

I would have loved to have seen Palin talk about the bias represented in any news coverage, and about the fact that limiting yourself to only one or two sources of news can limit your access to COMPLETE coverage of the news. I'd also like to see somebody talking about the idea that maybe foreign coverage of news has some validity as well. You'd THINK that anyone with an interest in foreign policy might want to see reporting that is not "Americentric", but maybe that eludes her along with the names of any actual news sources other than Hockey Journal.

78. 2 to 3 on paper, 4 online
Edited on Wed Oct-01-08 12:49 PM by JPZenger
I read 2 to 3 newspapers everyday (including either the NYTimes or the Phila. Inquirer, plus my local paper) and then I check the headlines that interest me for 4 other local papers online. In addition, DU, Huffingtonpost and Dailykos give me a great overview of headlines in other papers and websites.

It is interesting that magazines and books have become almost irrelevant when it comes to news and current events.

I find the New York Times almost exhausting to read at times. Not only is the print too small, but there are too many articles that I think I should read. Meanwhile, other papers have shrunk so much in their "news holes" between the ads, that they are not worth 3 quarters.

Edited on Wed Oct-01-08 01:06 PM by dethl
Never mind that many of the national articles are written by the Associated Press or Reuters and wind up just about everywhere, paper or not.

But every now and then:
Las Cruces Sun News (Las Cruces, NM local paper)
USA Today and New York Times are available every weekday on my campus as well for free.

But for the most part I go to the major TV networks (except Faux News) websites and news.google.com.
