Edited on Tue Sep-30-08 01:54 PM by WI_DEM
I honestly don't think so. Obama wins the black vote 84-15, but I think on election day he will carry more than 90% of the black vote and turnout in the African-American community will be extremely strong.
http://www.surveyusa.com/client/PollReport.aspx?g=f59524ea-868f-443b-bd5f-b96bf98b6e79

I've read many SUSA polls and find that in some states they give McCain an extremely high portion of the black vote, such as 21% of the black vote for McCain in Florida, in a poll out yesterday which also gives McCain only a 1-point lead overall 48/47:

On edit:
I apologize to those who noticed I forgot to put Ohio in the title and were nice enough to remind me in a civilized way, but to those who went out of there way to be rude about it (even though I included links) I think you need to learn how to be more courteous to your fellow DUers, as if you never have made a mistake.

3. whats the evangelical portion of black voters?
a strict anti-abortion viewpoint could pull those votes to the GOP

7. but these polls have Obama getting about the same % as Gore or Kerry
it's absurd that with the first AA candidate that they'll vote the same proportion as before.

6. Look at the youth vote too
This poll has Obama barely winning the youngest age bracket and actually doing better with those over 50 than those under 50. While this could just be statistical noise, it does raise some questions.

And is depressing.

after a fantastic court ruling yesterday I might ad (no need to wait 30 days after registering to vote to vote absentee or early...you can register AND vote all at the same time)

32. Older black voters, especially women
have more of a tendency to buy the Muslim crap than most. Its unlikely that McCain can get 15% but I can't rule it out in an older state, especially if the weighting of the polling is based off of old dynamics.
