"We have been told we cannot do this by a chorus of cynics. They will only grow louder and more dissonant. We've been asked to pause for a reality check. We've been warned against offering the people of this nation false hope. But in the unlikely story that is America, there's never been anything false about hope."
11. Obama campaign has registered 500,000 new voters in GA this year
If the national polls show him 6-8% ahead, he can surprise everyone in GA. We're talking 500,000 new voters in GA that I don't think any poll take into account.
Based on this poll when compared to national polls, Obama stands a greater chance of winning Georgia than McCain's chances at winning nationally. If that does not make you feel good about our chances I do not know what would.
We all know Obama Isn't going to win there.Obama has pulled most of his staff out and ended his TV ads there however this Is showing Obama can make things competive. For him to have Mccain with a lead In single digets Is great, and can help In the Senate race there. And the Memo was Palin was going to help keep Red States Red.And since Obama did better In the primary there than some polls suggested he could end up losing Georgia by 5 or 6 points but help pull off a senate upset since polls have It now a dead heat In that race.
I will say there has been a noticeable lack of McCain signs. The places where "sign forests" of repuke candidates are placed (i.e empty lots) NEVER have any McCain signs! It is really odd. I do see some signs in people's yards (usually with no other candidates) and a few stickers on cars, but I live in a very strong repuke area (coastal Georgia) and there just ain't much excitement. Maybe Atlanta can push the state close enough to make the repukes spend some bucks here....
