Sarah Barracuda is back allegedly in a "fighting mood," McCain aides claim
From Politico:

http://www.politico.com/blogs/jonathanmartin/0908/In_reintroduction_Palin_to_do_more_interviews_and_tell_her_story.html?showall

In reintroduction, Palin to do more interviews and "tell her story"

...
"She's seen the reviews and heard the criticism, but she's a fighter," said this aide. "And now she's in a fighting mood."

Palin heads to McCain's cabin in Arizona today to prepare for her Thursday debate, and while she's there she'll do a round of conservative talk radio interviews.

"Talk radio is a convenient, powerful and effective outlet," said the aide.

...

"She wants to tell her story more, and people around her do, too," added the source. "This is a governor very much on her toes, very much fed up with inaccuracies and fictions about her own life and career."

To this end, Palin was far more aggressive in another interview with Couric today, this aide said

...

"Sarah Barracuda showed up today," the aide said, reprising the feisty former point guard's high school basketball nickname and one that has been largely forgotten since her post-convention cosseting.

8. Who cares about whether she goes on the attack?
The damage has already been done. Her image has been hurt terribly by her latest gaffes, and nothing short of a miracle in the debate will save it. And she is certainly not capable of a debate in the miracle.

And even then, she is still the VP pick and Mccain is still at the top of the ticket.

This fits in well with previous discussions regarding hoe Sarah's personality will come into play in the VP debate. Rather than appreciating that the debate is supposed to focus on issues facing the country, she wants the country to focus on how "special" she is.

I'm looking forward to Thursday's debate.

23. is anyone in the media covering that
weird double McCain/Palin interview that aired last night? I know that AC360 and Keith covered it last night, but is it being shown during the day? It was really bizarre. It seemed solely to excuse Palin for her past fuck ups, she didn't mean it and the voter was asking a gotcha question. And it seemed really strange that they chose Couric again, as if to say, "Wait, give us another shot, Katie...we can do it better."

four weeks ago was when she could have played the life story card - when no one knew it, the media was DESPERATELY looking to prop her up ...

40 days to go until the election, and she has been defined by her past actions and her current inabilities. The time to "tell her story" passed, people want to know if she even freakin knows what job she is running for.

36. Interesting background on the "Barracuda" nickname - it's NOT because of how she played on the court
It's all about what a nasty little bee-yotch she was to her fellow players in order to get more playing time:
http://dwb.adn.com/news/politics/story/8334949p-8231037c.html
But her political opponents say there was another side to the charming candidate -- one captured by her nickname from those basketball years, "Sarah Barracuda." Supporters consider the name a testament to her aggressive play and ferocious defense. But opponents said the name captured a predatory instinct that Palin could turn on friend as well as foe -- one they said occasionally revealed itself in the mayoral years to come.

{snip}
Carney, part of an extended and prominent Wasilla-area family that has seen many children through public schools, said Palin's high-school nickname came from her efforts to get more playing time on the basketball court.

"She wasn't what she appeared," he said.

http://www.salon.com/news/feature/2008/09/17/palin_mayor/

But, in hindsight, Carney can see the qualities that have rocket-propelled Palin to where she is today.

"'Sarah Barracuda' -- she's proud of that name now, she uses it in her campaigns," said her former mentor. "But she got that name from the way she conducted herself with her own teammates. She was vicious to the other girls, always playing up to the coach and pointing out when the other girls made mistakes. She was the coach's favorite and he gave her more playing time than her skills warranted. My niece was on her team; she was a very good player. I used to sit there in the stands, and I would wonder, Why on earth is Sarah getting so much playing time?"

And from the Anne Kilkenny letter http://www.andrys.com/palin-kilkenny.html

Around Wasilla there are people who went to high school with Sarah.
They call her “Sarah Barracuda” because of her unbridled ambition and
predatory ruthlessness. Before she became so powerful, very ugly
stories circulated around town about shenanigans she pulled to be made
point guard on the high school basketball team. When Sarah's
mother-in-law, a highly respected member of the community and
experienced manager, ran for Mayor, Sarah refused to endorse her.

Sorry, Sarah. You're running for the second highest office in the land.

No interveiwer worth their salt (pssst. Hannity.) is going to play softball with you or provide you with an unchallenged forum to tell your fucking irrelevant story!

I don't give a good god-damn about your kids, your beauty pageant days or the fact that you like to kill animals. It is not at all relevant to the governing of this country that your red-neck husband is the Alaskan equivalent of a NASCAR driver or that you name your children the way Faulkner's white-trash family named theirs.

Take your bullshit narrative and shove it up your up-tight, fundegelical, rapture-ready ass!
