Upside to this bailout -- turning conservatives to Obama -- Thanks Dad!!!
Edited on Mon Sep-29-08 10:28 PM by weezie1317
Well I'll be darned. I just got a ride home from my extreme right wing, conservative father who has voted Republican in every election for decades. He's been a vocal supporter of Bush since 2000 and even blindly supports him now. Well, tonight, because of the failure of the bailout bill, he's voting for Obama.

He thinks McCain is completely ineffective, can't lead his own party and lost him money today. My father is a fiscal conservative and doesn't really agree with the moral right, and he has always thought the Republicans gave him the most money. A few weeks ago I gave him the tax chart, showing how under Obama's plan, he pays less taxes. And today's bill failure, pushed him over the line.

So, for the first time, I not only hope Obama will win, I think he actually might. I hope the silver lining to thsi credit problem is that more and more conservatives come to their senses and vote for Obama in November.

Here's the tax chart I mentioned --

1. Conservatives should vote for Obama,
or else they are going to lose their shirt and their underwear!

2. You just made my day!
That is awesome! Can you post the link to the tax chart? Will come in handy, and it sounds like a strategy that works. I'm sure some people have NEVER heard it explained that Obama would actually lower their taxes.

3. I worked phones here in OH today and saw that a lot of undecided voters have now decided on Obama.
It is the economy.
