Palin Claims “Gotcha” Journalism Is Tripping Her Up in interview with Couric flanked by McCain
This is following is ridiculous not only for the fact that Palin doesn’t even seem the be able to defend herself without McCain’s help, but also to the core idea of their argument that the media reporting exactly what Palin said to a voter in context is now somehow “gotcha” journalism.

The following from tonight’s new CBS interview with Katie Couric:

Katie Couric: Over the weekend, Gov. Palin, you said the U.S. should absolutely launch cross-border attacks from Afghanistan into Pakistan to, quote, “stop the terrorists from coming any further in.” Now, that’s almost the exact position that Barack Obama has taken and that you, Sen. McCain, have criticized as something you do not say out loud. So, Gov. Palin, are you two on the same page on this?

Sarah Palin: We had a great discussion with President Zardari as we talked about what it is that America can and should be doing together to make sure that the terrorists do not cross borders and do not ultimately put themselves in a position of attacking America again or her allies. And we will do what we have to do to secure the United States of America and her allies.

Couric: Is that something you shouldn’t say out loud, Sen. McCain?

John McCain: Of course not. But, look, I understand this day and age “gotcha” journalism. Is that a pizza place? In a conversation with someone who you didn’t hear … the question very well, you don’t know the context of the conversation. Grab a phrase. Gov. Palin and I agree that you don’t announce that you’re going to attack another country.

Couric: Are you sorry you said it …

4. Well, she kinda has a point.
They should stop focusing on unimportant things like "policy" and "the economy" and such as and stick to questions about her favorite color.

5. and this is why she won't garner any sympathy from anyone
other than the Base, which is voting for her anyway. She's an insult to anyone who has a brain. To McSame and Caribou Barbie any question that she can't answer or forces her to lie in response to is a "gotcha" question. Like how they both lie about the attacking Pakistan question by saying that THEY would never ANNOUNCE their intentions to the terrorists as if to imply that Obama WOULD announce his military intentions (something he NEVER said he would do). To the dust-bin of history with both of them.

7. This Thursday night is going to be a joke.
I'm guessing that the debate...you know, that forum where the American people rightfully expect to see candidates for the Vice Presidency of the United States answering questions about policy...is "gotcha journalism" to the likes of Sarah Palin and John McCain.
